MikeDobbs Posted August 13, 2016 Report Posted August 13, 2016 Hi everyone! I'm from Long Island NY, and have been kiting all my life, but more seriously for about the last 10 years. Started out on stunt kites- 2 lines, and then got interested in power kiting while on a vacation. Got my first traction kites about 7 or 8 years ago, and loved them! From there I progressed into kite buggying,And started setting my sights on kiteboarding (which I found to be the hardest by far). I've been kite boarding competently for a few years now, and having a blast. Check out my latest video: https://youtu.be/vUm600XfYO8Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app 4 Quote
SHBKF Posted August 13, 2016 Report Posted August 13, 2016 Welcome to KiteLife! Glad you decided to join. We need to hear more from the kite boarding side of the hobby. There are other avid fliers from Long Island on this site. Hope you can meet up with them. SHBKF Quote
makatakam Posted August 13, 2016 Report Posted August 13, 2016 Hi, Mike, and welcome to the KiteLife forum. I'm not into powerkiting, but if I was 25 years younger I probably would be. Can't take the physical beating anymore at 65 years old. Good to have you on-board. People on this forum fly every kind of kite ever made. Smile, have fun and don't forget to breathe. Quote
Materdaddy Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 Welcome! Thanks for sharing the video. Kiteboarding looks fun! Quote
