rweird Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 im looking at the new tech desire ul or prism's 3d. Kite shop is recomending the desire and I'm leaning towards that one. I just havent been able to find many reviews of it. Any opinions of the two? Thanks Ryan Quote
audioRob Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 If those are your choices, the desire has the most use by far. Is there a reason you're limited to those 2 choices? money I suspect? Quote
John Barresi Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 The Desire is an AMAZING light wind kite, but isn't going to lead you into tricks or tight precision flying... However, it flies in almost nothing and is an excellent value for the money. The 3D is a much smaller kite, if I remember correctly. Quote
rweird Posted November 21, 2005 Author Report Posted November 21, 2005 If those are your choices, the desire has the most use by far.Is there a reason you're limited to those 2 choices? money I suspect? yes money is the main reason(trying to stay around $100) and the local shop stocks new tech and prism. I just want something for those days when there is little to no wind. I have a prism micron and adrenaline for when the wind picks up. Quote
kite-head Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 I have recently obtained a Prism Flashlight. I have only been able to take it out about three times cause the wind here in KCK went from nearly non-existant to nearly gale force... Anyway, it seems to handle those very light wind days well, and is a welcome addition to my slowly growing collection. The other thing about the Flashlight is that it is right in your price range. audioRob Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 I persoally like the flashlight more than the 3d now. But neither really tickles my fancy very much compared to other options. Quote
rweird Posted November 23, 2005 Author Report Posted November 23, 2005 so the desire out of those choices? :confused!: Quote
John Barresi Posted November 23, 2005 Report Posted November 23, 2005 That would be my recommendation. Quote

ant man Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 the prizm 3d is a better choise a small kite and a great ul Quote
Bram Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 I just sold my 3d because it was a bit to small for my taste. Haven't flown the desire though... Quote
ant man Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 the desire is a good kite for low wind but its very slow i like the 3d for no wind outside or indoor flying i have a flashlight and i think on 30 foot lines it flies great i also have a sheva sul that is good for light wind trick flying you might want to try getting into quad lines as well it will give you a chance to have both types on the still air days Quote
John Barresi Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 The Desire flies in light wind... But, it doesn't do much else. I love my SUL Shiva... It'll fly in darn-near no wind, and is very precise... It's stability is definitely a plus. Quote
ant man Posted July 23, 2006 Report Posted July 23, 2006 i have a SUL sheva and i too like its light wind peformance Quote
