Maybe 4-5 iterations instead? Went for 5.. was exactly twice the font size and 4 iterations looked a little clock-ish to me..lost a bit of the circular feel.. Do you have a preferred font?? 2 Quote
John Barresi Posted May 11, 2017 Author Report Posted May 11, 2017 Niiice... Can we make the bottom two URLs upright (for readability)? Quote
John Barresi Posted May 11, 2017 Author Report Posted May 11, 2017 No preferred font, but I think upper case may be much more legible, especially in smaller versions. Quote
John Barresi Posted May 11, 2017 Author Report Posted May 11, 2017 Nice option, although my eye wrinkles at the color change partway through the URL, particularly at a distance. Sorry if my replies are a little terse today, juggling some family stuff at the same time. Quote
riffclown Posted May 11, 2017 Report Posted May 11, 2017 I can't seem to get the font inverted for the bottom two without breaking the curve but Here is the all caps version also a version without the bottom two.. Quote
makatakam Posted May 11, 2017 Report Posted May 11, 2017 It could just be put on the outside of the circle in solid color. Then the "TKL" can still be used on the hill. Terse = brevity. It is good. 1 Quote
makatakam Posted May 11, 2017 Report Posted May 11, 2017 Another. I can tweak it so "TKL" is evenly spaced. The second one is tweaked and moved the figure for better balance. The black borders can be removed. Unfortunately, the program I'm using won't work without them. Of course the choice of type face, number and outline of silhouettes, and colors can be changed to whatever you prefer. Quote
John Barresi Posted May 11, 2017 Author Report Posted May 11, 2017 FYI @riffclown... "you better ask your supplier to export the files in PDF [high quality print] file format and send back only PDF file to you. with PDF you can easily open and edit the files in illustrator or any Adobe programs." Unproven on this end, but I'm hopeful. Quote

John Barresi Posted May 11, 2017 Author Report Posted May 11, 2017 @makatakam, I do appreciate the simplicity you've applied with your examples but we are set on the dogstake angles, personal meaning and power for us. Also, I'm partial to the symmetrical logo (ring around it - solid or text). Always hate to decline a sincere effort, but it's said kindly and with due appreciation for the energy you've put forth this far. Dialogue continues, lots of excellent input, even if the captain is a bit too particular. Quote
riffclown Posted May 11, 2017 Report Posted May 11, 2017 Will the AI file do?? If you want just the Ring Vector layer let me know since you have the original base drawing already saved.. TKLJB5.ai 1 Quote
John Barresi Posted May 11, 2017 Author Report Posted May 11, 2017 It will, I'm sure! Lemme (start and) finish packing for my flight to Michigan tomorrow, will take a look later... So exciting! Quote
John Barresi Posted May 12, 2017 Author Report Posted May 12, 2017 That's HOT. Lemme go drop that other font in there... BRB. Quote
John Barresi Posted May 12, 2017 Author Report Posted May 12, 2017 Better yet, maybe have a go at this Riff? "TKL" is a graphic in these files (not text), it just needs the border and URL modifications. TKL logo v3.ai TKL_logo_v3.psd TKL logo v3.pdf Quote

Hoping those vector files will allow you to make it all "for real", rather than adding vector on top of the previous JPG samples. 1 Quote
John Barresi Posted May 12, 2017 Author Report Posted May 12, 2017 PS: I'm really happy with the direction we've got going now. Quote
John Barresi Posted May 12, 2017 Author Report Posted May 12, 2017 Thinking further on the URL font, a tad more space between letters for legibility at some distance... ? Quote
John Barresi Posted May 12, 2017 Author Report Posted May 12, 2017 Very close... Slightly smaller TKL, maybe 10% smaller, or a hair less. Slight balancing of space on either end of the URL, between it and the border... Not sure if that's best done by reshaping the M (the T has good spacing) or by moving / reshaping the right mountain line / cutoff? Quote
riffclown Posted May 12, 2017 Report Posted May 12, 2017 OK, Mountain Moved I'm not sure 10% smaller on the TKL is all that noticeable. I spaced it out a bit (also for readability) Version B Version C 1 Quote
John Barresi Posted May 12, 2017 Author Report Posted May 12, 2017 Version C with "TKL" a hair down and left, also a *smidge* more space between "com" and the border line? Quote
