feelxitxburn Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 yesterday i was informed by awind of change that john and someone else performed a move called the kiss of death. where basically they had 2 quads flying around and then you put 1 kites leading edge end to the other and fly around together as one kite. that move sounds way crazy. you guys have a pic of it? and 2, rev vid it looks like this guy is wrapping his rev in the video, or is he? watch closesly i think he does it like twice. is this even possible? Quote
audioRob Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Rev kisses are actually pretty easy with 2 people... And that trick is called a flic-flac, with extended handles and a rev 1.5 it's not that hard generally either. Quote
feelxitxburn Posted March 24, 2006 Author Report Posted March 24, 2006 ahh im all new to the kite world. my sle comes in tommorow, oh am i ever so excited i sold off my xbox for it. that move just sounds mind blowing to me, a real show for the crowds i imagine. Quote

Video games are great and all (I love my nintendo ds) but kites are so much more rewarding in everyway... mentally, physically, perhaps morally (more helping, learning, caring, less killing, beating and basketball). It gets really fun when you get 4 revs together and bring the LE's together to make a box, then fly some figures like that. I got to do that a few weeks ago with all 4 being my own custom quads and... man nothing is more satisfying You're at a good place to talk about revs too. Barresi is the man, and monkey is.. err.. he flies quads too! btw 'that guy' in the video is lam hoac.. also amazing flier and super duper guy. He makes fantastic kites, www.skysportdesign.com I think he needs to post here more often. I'll talk to him when he gets back from WA/OR Quote

I'd be glad to come over there or hang out with you here and fly anything you want. I know a couple good places in orlando to fly at... way more nice places here in st. pete There's a few of us rev fliers over here (I know of 6 just here... me, my wife, drew, brother, todd copeland, jay nunes). There's a fellow over in your area I beleive by the name robert (like me) who flies kites as well. We have a fun fly coming up april 16th at st. augustine, you should come on out. Lots of fun! Quote
feelxitxburn Posted March 24, 2006 Author Report Posted March 24, 2006 what places would you know? ive been only to one park where the wind was smothered by the trees around the area. im in the ucf area for a reference. whats a messanger? ha. well if you want man, friday or saturday would be a free day for me. sunday i go back to melbourne and hit he beaches for some wind. get me some info on that guy around here, im allllll alone when it comes to kite flying. my friends think im rediculous for spending 200 on it, but they dont know the fun in store. and the april event, ill be sure to make it. thanks man. audioRob Posted March 24, 2006 Report Posted March 24, 2006 aim, msn, yahoo, icq etc.. Winds will be a little bit high saturday, but you're welcome to come out to treasure island. I'll setup a tent and whatnot, buy lunch and you can fly anything in my bag even soem of my top secret prototypes Down on I4 in the exits around 65-75 there's some good feilds you can get too, browse around or goto http://maps.google.com and browse there. Some golf courses in orlando will let you fly as well if you're very polite. Quote
feelxitxburn Posted March 24, 2006 Author Report Posted March 24, 2006 ah man thats pretty cool. my aim is: feelxitxburn. its practically always on, if i dont answer its most likely im out at class or somethin. just message when you get the chance. later Quote
REVflyer Posted March 24, 2006 Report Posted March 24, 2006 You can also make the connection between two revs stronger by adding rare earth magnets to the end-caps (polarity matters though, HA!). Then when two pilots "lock-on" together, one can release the handles entirely and the other pilot assumes control of both kites, but using only one set of lines and handles. Harold Ames came up with this little addition on a cooperative project for the 1999 Smithsonian Competition. We were novice builders but won most innovative Masters award. Our sails were printed in CMYK with a solar system scene on a huge ink-jet device. Truly one of my most memorable occasions in kiting. Sony also filmed us for a high definition demo, although never got to see the final, we probably wound up on the cutting room's floor! Quote
J.J. Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 Team4Fun had a trainings-session last saturday. One of our displays looks like this: and another one: Take care, J.J. Quote
Penny Lingenfelter Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 Very nice! We didn't call them kisses, we just called them leading edge locks. You can also lock the leading edge to the back tips of the rev in front of you. And my favorite is a horizontal leading edge lock across. Tip to tip lock on Rev. 1's. 18 ft. across. Sweet! Best Breezes, Penny Quote
monkey Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 Team4Fun had a trainings-session last saturday.Take care, J.J. Will John and I be seeing your team at Berck in a week and a half? Great pics! We need to have the worlds largest rev mega fly there.... Quote
J.J. Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 @Monkey: will you be in Berck too? Great! Look forward to meet and fly with you and John. Only 3 members from my team will be in Berck, also other quadlineteams like Flying Squad (GB), FLIC (F), Crazy Drivers (F) will be in Berck. Last year we had a megateam with 17, so this year we will be more than 20. Last year it looked like this: See you in Berck Quote

monkey Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 And yes, we really want to up that count for a mega fly and get iot on film again, it looked great last year! Further news on this, I talked to Lolly @ Rev this afternoon and she knows of a Japanese quad team that are on their way as well... Too cool! Quote
Mike Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 I am sooooo jealous! Berck sounds like an incredible amount of fun. We didn't call them kisses, we just called them leading edge locks. Is that what you call it when you lock lips with your significant other too? Quote
Penny Lingenfelter Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 Hey, I've been a "Phour Play Phanatic" for 15 years. lol It's on our old Quad Squad cards.. Rev doesn't want to see it on a shirt though. Any more information then that... I'll keep to myself. BB Penny Quote

Is that what you call it when you lock lips with your significant other too? Berck will be Quad Kite Central this year I suspect, there is at least 20 people lined up for the mega fly and if the Japanese show up too, the sky will be the limit. I'm soooooo psyched, especially because of the quad teams in attendance, The Flying Squad, FLIC, Team4Fun. I've never seen any team work in person so, this will be my highlight. And maybe I can join in too! I'l be taking tons of pictures and hours of videotape as well. Mousie and I have bene known to kiss while flying quad together... Quote
windofchange Posted April 5, 2006 Report Posted April 5, 2006 Found another picture of the "kiss" along with some pretty awesome shots. Click Here to View Quote

Im thinking its more of a pounce lol.. I need a bit of refinment to my flying skills lol.. eeek. hugs to all, Mousie Quote
J.J. Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 in case someone wonders what the third guy from the left is wearing on his head: This is Damien from Crazy Drivers who filmed from the fliers site of view. Look forward to see the result. See you, Quote
