If anyone has tips on how to navigate this site , I would love it

Give it time and pick up things in the mean time - enjoy finding useful information in an friendly albeit sometimes a bit chatty place. If feeling impatient/efficient, use the search function - the first search result will also get you to the advanced search page. Make sure that your search is for "All Content", if that is your intention.

The search function also gives you the possibility to make a well formed decision when posting - should I start a new topic(/thread) or should I go with an already existing one? 
Also don't forget to learn from the magazines (as well as getting a more historical perspective). They are available from every KiteLife forum page by clicking the "Article" tab  on the top menu row.

Set a time limit....lol

Click on a section/topic that interests you. Set a preference for "most recent". That way you see the most recent stuff first. Take it from there.

Sometimes I'll click on a topic at random just to follow the white rabbit.

For questions / discussion, best thing to do is reply to or make new posts in the forum categories - photo galleries and such allow comments but they are really just good for comments or short discussions, in-depth stuff will be better answered in the forum topics.
