  1. Back in early 2016, my friend ("flynhi" here) and I were discussing how a Rev B pattern could make a pretty cool "Arizona flag" kite. I'd just starting flying Revs and only had an EXP, but at the time I thought maybe I'd colorize a B Pro when I'm worthy. Then life got a bit busy and I took an unplanned and unfortunately-timed hiatus from kiting. I came back to it in the spring of 2018 ready to move on from my EXP. Lo and behold, some major stuff had gone down with Revolution during my absence! I did a lot of detective work on the forums to piece together what happened (still not sure, but I got the gist). Luckily, I was just in time to be able to find a stock B Standard, which I LOVE. No luck on custom colors for my dream kite though. So, I decided to make it myself. I've unofficially nicknamed it John McKite in honor of Senator John McCain, who passed away during the time I was building it. Now that I think of it, maybe it should be John McQuad. Anyway, I wanted a more coppery color for the center "star" but the orange is pretty close, even more so when it's in the air.

  2. A valid point indeed.. I tried to keep it asclose as possible.. I may not know for sure until i see the results of flying it more..

  3. @Wayne Dowler I've only eliminated the bungees at the top of the verticals.. The bottom is still bungeed BUT the knots are concealed.. The top of the verticals is much the same treatment Bazzer uses on the Phoenix sails.. I just use line that makes that connection less elastic and let the elastic at the bottom be the stretch point.. I've started tying the knot at the bottom in a way that allows me to tuck the loose ends into the pocket at the bottom of the sail.. Nothing groundbreaking just a cleaning point.. I also want to clean the endcaps of the LE but haven't tackled that problem yet.. I'm also playing with some variable wing shaping but not springs like the reflex.. more of a targeting shape point with extremely light resistance. Will wait until it works before sharing...

  5. Yes, the one I have is exactly that. Half as long, plus a ferrule. Put two together and it is the length of a regular spar. When making a set I suspect they take a regular set of six spars (one spare), run them across a very narrow saw precisely down the center, then add six ferrules. None of the spars are double-ferrule like the center spar typically is, only one ferrule per piece.
