  1. In the fall after our first freeze these hatch . Just on my land tens if not hundreds of thousands of babies spin out 1 to 2 feet of web and ride the winds. They burrow down in the grasses and hide for the winter. In early spring there is another hatching but only about 25% as many. This year was dry and mosquitos being their main food source there weren't many adults to be seen. When food is plentiful the bigger ones grow to more than 5" long. They won't make you sick but trust me their bite HURTS.In wetter years we've seen the prairie covered by so many it looks like dew in the afternoon. Today was the first clear day since they started hatching. About ten minutes in I noticed a couple of hundred or more of them on my flying lines glinting in the sun. It was absolutely stunning. When one would blow off another would attach. At times today I'd stop what I was doing and just twirl the kite across the face of the sun admiring the spectacle. Very unexpected and outstanding afternoon of flying.

  2. There used to be a brand of kite line called "spider line", it was blue, made from the same stuff as today's Dyneema and Spectra names. I've still got a bit of it on a winder. I think if I knew there were spiders out ballooning, I'd call that as a good day to fly indoors.

  3. Poses to use... Downward Facing SkyDog Fly the Triangle Half Moon pose for Night Flys Dolphin inflatable Kite Avoid the Tree Pose and Intense Side stretch as that can damage your kite

  4. Field Test was successful. Added a very quick clip of the ground view for the Inverted Kip Landing at 23 seconds in (75% Speed.)

  5. "since the wind range overlap is so broad" Indeed!! Here is my experience with it ..... Up at WSIKF one day, John had all 3 versions of the Djinn out for people to try. The std version was always in someone's hands, so John suggested I try the midvent. I put it up, made a minor adjustment to the top lines and flew a bit. Felt good, but in those light winds, nothing stood out to me as spectacular. After a bit I put it down, told him very nice, and was waiting for the std to come open. Then he says - "Try the full vent." Now I'm skeptical, these winds wouldn't be enough to fly what I use regularly, so I look at him and he says - "Just try it." So I launch it, and am amazed that it can even fly in these winds! Then a strange thing happens - pretty soon I'm leading a line of fliers. Now this may not seem out of the ordinary, as I do this fairly regularly, BUT I"M DOING IT WITH THE FULL VENT!! Any moment, I'm expecting the mid and/or std to run me over!! NOT! Led for quite a bit, put it down, and just shook my head!! Did I just see what I thought I saw?? OVERLAP? - INDEED!!

  6. you may use 50# lines on 120 if you use 2 wraps frame on 1.5 if the wind is not harder then 4-5 mph ore on B-Pro mid at 7-10 mph. at the first sign of medium pull go back to 90#

  7. No no confusion returning to normal flight, but flying inverted on the dog stake confused my brain a bit with regards to side slides, there where a few ground bouncing moments, your brain seems to sort most of it out and the fun is off the scale😁 Bit of video from my first flight on Facebook another enjoyable journey coming up, https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=501783390269187&id=100013125912925
