  1. Also, a kite can be weighted anywhere along the spine to change stability and other performance features.

  2. I try to use as little weight as possible, but some kites need weight in the tail. The trick is to find out how much through a lot of time & experimentation. Try it with the stock tailweight, then try it without. Spend at least 10 or 15 minutes with either configuration. Try it with 1/2 the stock tailweight to really fine tune, see how that goes. Once you figure out what works best for you, lock it in. Certain kites like the Prism Zephyr come with a tail weight, I never use it. Others fly fine, even though they have as much as 20 grams (some more). Blue Moon Exile I fly with only 5 grams. I custom made a tailweight for my QPro that is around 10 grams, much less than the smallest weight in the weight kit, but just enough to get it to fly the way I like...

  3. The Zero G and me finally came to an understanding today After a nice long session with several Dualies, the wind dropped down to about 2mph. So up the ZeroG went while taking everyone's+Glider Geeks suggestions into account and I managed to keep it aloft for a good 8min or so. I discovered that launching this glider a few degrees to my left or right provides just enough of an offset to gently manage the change in return velocity. Successive launches went higher and higher and the dynamic of walking the kite suddenly made perfect sense. Now, totally excited to try using all the line instead of just 15 meters. Thanks again Wayne & Rob for your insights. -8th

  5. There is also Fanø kite festival and one at Blokhus in northern Jutland. May be others, but that's the ones I know about.

  6. When I went to quad clinic John had me swap out the 4 wrap in my full vent to a 3 wrap to make it cup more and accelerate faster to keep up with the Djinns during team flying. Seemed counterintuitive at the time,, but worked. His sail loading and tuning videos are now the most helpful. Things flesh out in team that you don't see when flying solo.
