Been holding off on subscribing to KiteLife?
John Barresi replied to John Barresi's topic in News from the Webmaster
Aye, I feel ya but this offer is open only to first time subscribers. -
Also, try lowering your hands closer to your belt buckle immediately after you've made the turn at the top and are pointing downward... This increases the "natural" tension on the bottom lines and will reduce the amount of leverage you need to apply on the actual brake inputs.

KiteLife App is free for iOS!
John Barresi replied to John Barresi's topic in News from the Webmaster
Good! I'be also advised them about a lot of embedded content (Facebook posts, KL products, etc) not appearing in the app - they're trying to interface with several forum softwares, and have simply said they'll continue trying to improve the app. -
All good, we fly everything here - thanks again!

Tried iMovie on my iPhone 6, couldn't get comfortable - just too small a workspace.

FYI, until January 15th... If you can't see the Facebook content above, please use your browser (necessary to use the offer anyway).

WOW! Great prize offering Zach, and I love the 8 or more clause.

Although not the same inventory variety, I know that http://www.intothewind.com should also have some of their customs in stock.
-
Side note, I know for a fact that @The Kite Shoppe has quite a few left in stock if anyone is looking.

Aye, and probably around 75'-100' length. Quad tutorial, but still applies...

Carbon Tubing Comparison
John Barresi replied to SegelFlieger's topic in Adjustments and Modifications
Not sure a straight up "what rod for what wind speed" question is sufficient here, I'' thinking the sail / vent configuration you choose has a lot to do with the rod you choose. -
I'd expect no less, enjoy the holiday sir!

I wouldn't take a SUL or UL, because I might want to fish or catch birds.

John Barresi replied to p23brian's topic in Quad Heads
Mostly ergonomics, efficient position(s) and range(s) of motion for the human form... Some variance for body type, hand shape, finger length, injuries and personal quirks, but the baseline for efficient flight is pretty much the same for everyone. From there it's a matter of sport vs recreation - sport is efficiency and recreation is expression, somewhere in the overlap is where I just fly away... -

I think my "favorite" vented dual lines are as follows.... I say "favorite" because unlike quads which typically get more stable with venting, vented dual lines are pale comparisons to normal models (SUL/UL/standard). The Shiva by Cavelier du Ciel, no longer made... Best in its mid vent configuration. Sea Devil Mid Vent (by Lam Hoac) reframed in strong Aerostuff rods from Japan. And, the vented X-Masque (by R-Sky) but it only handles well in the mid vent configuration, for my taste. I really dislike it when my handling (steering) gets mushy and underpowered... Full vent kites may load up going straight or through wide turns, but almost always lose pressure (and drive) in sharp corners.
