  1. Hoorah! Glad to hear it Todd, see you then. Wind has been 3-6 mph almost all day both yesterday and today... A little mist at times, but quite warm if you're flying! Been flying my new 3PT (Light) Sea Devil like crazy, especially working on a double roll up into multilazies... Got my first complete Comet rotation today, not sure how I did it... Gonna have fun finding out.
  2. Monkey and I are already in Ocean Shores for the Summer Heat competition, then it's off to WISKF on Sunday night for a whole week of kiting fun.
  3. Viola... http://ozonesnowkites.com/contact_us.htm
  4. I've flown on Cocoa Beach before... Wind usually isn't bad, but the beaches are so darned narrow. Good thing you can wade out so far.
  5. $70... Geez, I really need to throw some of my old kite junk on there.
  6. Agreed. LOL Doug.
  7. Super Blast and 50' x 200# lines... Then I'd fashion a board and floats out of the nearest coconut tree.
  8. I'll be there for the whole week, coming straight down from Summer Heat in Ocean Shores... Anyone else going?
  9. Not bad, eh?
  10. FYI - if ever you should post an email address here, do it in this format: john (at) myplace (dot) com This will help keep spam bots from snatching it up and adding it to their mailing lists.
  11. Kites on the brain?
  12. *chortle* ..... *snort*
  13. Yo, I'm in for 12 events at Summer Heat.
  14. I have a Spirit... And we did a review on one a few issues back.
  15. Indeed, and we're up for addressing all styles. Just let us know!
  16. There's a reason they call it the Dark Side.
  17. Hello there, since you've stopped to read this it's safe to assume you have some interest in this topic... My question for you today is, what do you want to know about quad line flying? Please post any ideas for topics you'd like to see covered in future issues of Kitelife. We have a truly extensive group of master quad line fliers in our network and we'd love the chance to provide information that you've not seen before... Quad line kites are totally unique, and we probably have the in depth answers you're looking for. However, any "quick and dirty" questions like "how heavy should my lines be" would be best directed to the quad line discussion area found here. Thanks in advance!
  18. Viola... http://kitelife.com/archives/issue43/revisions43/index.htm Thanks monkey man!
  19. Out of the roughly 24,000 unique visitors that come to Kitelife every month, only 154 are official Kitelife subscribers... This is amazing considering that we see over 120 Gigabytes in downloads and 500,000 pages viewed every month! I would have you consider the enormous and long-standing benefit that Kitelife has to offer, and how often you actually visit the site... Most of the fliers we talk to at events around the country admit to logging on at least once or twice a day, many of them specifically for our video archives (the largest of it's kind in the world). No other publication or organization has taken a direct and specific interest in featuring the various personalities within sport kiting, sharing information and most importantly, archiving it's history by way of interviews, articles and videos. Also worthy of mention are the out of print publications we've been able to put on the web for our readers, Stunt Kite Quarterly (published from 1988 to 1993 - 14 issues) and Kitelines (published from 1977 to 2000 - 50 issues)... We have others in our sights, and will keep pursuing other historic periodicals for reprint as we have time. On any given month, Kitelife receives between 10-30 calls and emails from various newspapers, magazines, publishers, TV production companies, schools, kitemakers and fliers seeking information or old friends... For the most part, we serve as an active nexus where people in need are connected with those who can help them. Long term benefits aside, here is what subscribers receive directly: Entry into prize drawings every 4-6 weeks, average $150 prize value. Uninterrupted access to main video archives, normally closed during high usage. Access to exclusive "members only" video and photo section. 100MB of photo storage in the Kitelife PhotoFile galleries. Special subscriber signature on the Kitelife Forum. Seasonal discounts with select advertisers. For $2.95 a month, we truly believe that these items and our ongoing projects are quite a value indeed! For about 9 cents a day, you can personally help ensure our continued growth and improvement... Plus, you get access to a bunch of cool stuff. If kiting is in your blood, you know what I'm saying, and you feel it... Sign up today! http://www.kitelife.com/subscribe/ Thanks for reading!
  20. We're pleased to yet again announce the next prize being given away to our most appreciated supporters, the Kitelife Subscribers... Odds of winning for this prize is currently 1/153, and will be drawn on August 30th! http://www.kitelife.com/prizes/guitar43/index.htm Our thanks, and the very best to you!
  21. Drum roll please... The winner of this great prize is: Earl Spriggs - Subscriber #41 Congratulations Earl!! Our new prize(s) will be announced by the end of the day.
  22. Beautiful... Thanks kitepilot, you've started my first day down here in Berkeley on a great note.
  23. Submission deadlines are September 20th, November 20th, January 20th, March 20th, May 20th and July 20th... With each issue being publishing on the 1st immediately following any given deadline. Ideas... - Profile a certain competitor's quad rig (handles, leaders, settings, etc) - Technique for clockwork turns, how to stack Revs, 3D flying, etc. - How to add the adjustments on Rev handles. - Differences between "pro use only", "ultra light" and "rev equipped" rods. - Break down on mixing spar weights. - Vented with an ultralight frame? Yada yada...
  24. I've been using the same method Don, with a good deal of success. Nice to not have a railroad spike in my back pocket all the time.
  25. Nice work, now how about that bi-monthly quad column?
