  1. Is that a video game Wen? I have never played it, although I do like many video games. For those who don't know, Wen is a young gentleman who I met on my recent trip to Taiwan... And a budding sport kite flier!
  2. I'm working on the videos from Taiwan and AKA Nationals as well, should be ready within 1-2 weeks... Just waiting on the soundtracks.
  3. Wow! Still, 40% is an incredible offer for those who subscribe to Kitelife between now and November 30th! Existing subscribers still quallify for the 25% off winter sale of course.
  4. Go to your local main library with a CD walkman and headphones... They generally have TONS of music, and you can then listen to anything that grabs your eye without even having to take it home or buy anything until you know you like it.
  5. To avoid any future confusion, does this offer still honor the AKA discount? If so... 10% AKA + 15% KL + 25% sale = 50% off?
  6. Up to 23 out of 50 now... Well on our way! Also, for those who are interested... Kitelife finished with an all time record of 36,600 visitors in the month of October!! All despite our main email having been down for the last week due to an email bomb.
  7. Just wanted to wish ya'll a very happy Halloween, don't eat too much candy!
  8. Too cool Mario! I'll try to remember and take a look. Congratulations for getting kiting on the map in Big Bear!
  9. I don't see anything to make my head explode... What's up? By the way... Where's my Cody?
  10. Those of you have been reading the GWTW Forum thread know that we got hit with an email bomb of over 200,000 per hour sometime yesterday morning, and it took our site off line for part of the day. Here's the latest update... We're still getting over 200 emails per hour (down from 100,000), from dozens of servers and hundreds of IP addresses... Probably some punk kid with a two bit Trojan script and nothing better to do. My server provider is being very considerate, has spent some time in chat with me, and has left the our site on line... While personally monitoring and deleting the email as it comes in (along with my own legitimate emails). We're going to ride it out for a day or three, and then if it does not subside we'll have to turn off the name servers with my domain registrar which will leave nothing for the bomb to hit for a few days... If we end up having to do this, all of the Kitelife site, email and mailing list will be off line until we switch it back. We're looking to avoid this, and will be on line for at least 1-2 more days. I will of course be posting in here immediately if we do have to shut down temporarily. Thanks again for all of your support and patience! In the event of site outage, you can reach me here - kitelife(at)hotmail(dot)com
  11. Thanks Bill! We couldn't do what we do without you guys!
  12. 1992 was my winningest season ever... In Experienced class, I still hold two records. - 42 times in the top three - 13 ranked events entered That year me and my father traveled as far as one could for events... From Los Angeles to Vancouver BC, South Miami Beach to Boston.
  13. Back from the dark side? Seems to me that tricks are the dark side!
  14. Hey, the link won't work for me... You can just add the photo to your forum posting, when you're entering a new message - just look below for the "Browse..." button!
  15. 20 new subscribers, 30 to go! The current list looks like the "who's who" of kiting as we know it.
  16. I did my first cascade in Seaside during the AKA Nationals, and just figured out the flic-flac yesterday on the field with Scott... Even popped off 2 jacob's ladders, although there wasn't enough wind to nail it down.
  17. Hey Rick... Any news on the Cody plans for Kitelife? I know you're busy with talk show bookings after your feature article in Kiting Magazine, but we still love ya!
  18. Excuse me while I scurry out of harm's way...
  19. Now you're making me blush! Kitelines should be next if all goes well... Published from 1977 to the late 90s, there are something like 6 or 7 times as many Kitelines issues than there were of SKQ! With an incredible variety of kiting information, comparisons and plans, we really hope we can get this new project rolling as soon as possible! We posted the SKQ news over on GWTW's Forum as well, any of our subscribers who would like to make a follow up posting there could perhaps encourage others to sign up as well, emphasizing the long-term benefits Kitelife has to offer! http://gwtw-kites.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=17717 Either way it's all good, our mission is clear.
  20. Hello my friends, I am incredibly excited to announce that the complete collection of Stunt Kite Quarterly (SKQ) is finally converted to full color PDF files, all 14 issues are available on line, and 100% free of charge! As some of you may recall, SKQ was published from 1988 to 1993 and featured some of the most specialized sport kite reporting, photos, tips and news in the industry during those years. I would like to consider this a tribute to the original publisher, Cris Batdorff... His obvious love of kiting and skills as a journalist enhanced the sport kite scene immeasurably during it's hey day, and the impact he had on our community will never be forgotten. Check it out today! http://kitelife.com/forum/index.php?autoco...amp;showcat=113 Tremendous thanks go out to Bob and Susan Hanson for allowing us to republish this historical resource completely free of charge, making it available to the entire world 24 hours a day... Their generosity is deeply appreciated. We hope you enjoy their gift!
  21. Neat vids!
  22. Oh, by the way... I came up with video of our pairs routine from Hawaii Challenge '94, and will add it to our video archives sometime in the next couple months.
  23. You have two stacks of Speedwings?
  24. Maybe we can get Team World United entered as a wild card?
  25. I would say to consider using 100 foot lines if you're not already... Other than that, the STX 1.8 is a smaller kite as I recall... Until you get into an 8 foot wingspan on your ultralights, they generally won't quite get the "hang time" you're looking for. Also to be clear, is it rated for 0.1mph or 1.0mph?
