  1. My thread on FB offers some feedback from Joe but IMHO he diverts questions to his spin on his business perceptions and did not take the time to speak to design and quality in pro level kites. single printed sheets are the topic and new printing is all to offer right now. Nothing proprietary with many of their sail designs so no issue with Bazzer. Their business plan has not changed even though many Master level builders no longer support Revolution. Happy fliers and great equipment is still offered by them. I asked if weaves were coming out soon. I was hoping for more but got corporate misdirection. He does seem to be a good guy just opposing views on some ways to communicate change to long time users of his products. The bad taste has me planning on looking elsewhere.
  2. Speaking with Bill offline and tickets from Norfolk are 480 to Portland. Rental van, gas and overnight stay make flying the way to go unless we get 6-8. U sure of room costs yet.
  3. I had a respectful offline conversation with Joe and found out things I did not know regarding the artwork. I expressed my concerns with company experiences, media, direction, quality, and left saddened by a shift to masses and leaving niche. Lastly I thanked him for his impact in my life and how Rev has improved it. Good open bidirectional conversation.
  4. Looking to make a Rokkaku that my grandkids and I can paint the material. Options and opinions on materials to use for first kite making attempt. Thanks!
  5. Does anyone from the area know of hotel options or discounts to festival flyers? Be looking for travel mates to split costs from east coast. Trying to make it happen. Thanks!

  7. I thought it was a new Simpson’s thing... DORT! The sound I make just before the kite hits the ground again.
  8. See, there is a reason to have more than one! Beautiful
  9. Now I can have one for urban play! Thanks Kite Forge [emoji122]
  10. The Kit Shoppe has 333 yd spools so two sets are covered. That is definitely something to watch out for. Guess that’s why folks like the 1000 best.
  11. Just went through two brand new Skybond 120/100# sets at a recent clinic. They were store purchases so costly. Have flown LPG in all kinds of crappy sand and grass and I’ll stand with them. However I love the Skybond slick. Can’t speak on OSK but I’m sold at long term so another spool is on the way!
  12. Forgot to mention this is a used kite with two flights. Clean and crisp sail.
  13. Great job April! Beautiful kite and flies like a dream. The smile on Eliot’s face and the loving look of a grandfather holding his grandchild in his arms for the first time was priceless! Can’t wait to see the next one!
  14. Big enough for real-kite performance, small enough to pack in a suitcase, the Nexus is an adrenaline-filled intro to sport kiting and we know it’ll get you hooked. Simple, rugged and affordable, the Nexus flies with the ease and control of a larger kite, with all the details that have made Prism the world’s leader in sport kite design. The Nexus features a composite carbon/glass frame for instant response and great light-wind performance. The three-point Turbo Bridle offers easy adjustment for a wide range of wind: just tilt the nose forward for lighter winds or back for strong winds. Our Turbo Bridle comes with built in limiters so you’ll never overtune your kite out of flying range. Speedier and sportier than a full-size kite, the Nexus will still get you started on a range of stunts and introduce you to the world of trick flying. Comes complete with low-stretch Spectra lines, winder, flight straps and a handy travel case that’s small enough to bring every time you head for the outdoors. Same Kamra rules... *Boilerplate*... Some rules and guidelines: Don’t play unless you’re willing to put up a prize and ship it to whoever wins. Shipping is paid by the original poster, the winner pays nothing. Be prepared to ship your prize anywhere in the lower 48 US States. Sorry, but due to shipping costs, we really have to limit this to the lower 48 US States. RULE CHANGE (7/31/2014): Members from Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii are welcome to enter the Karma drawings provided they are willing to pay half of the Karma prize shipping cost. The method and timing of the payment will be agreed upon between the two parties after the drawing for a particular prize. You can choose the length of the giveaway, but keep it between 1 and 2 weeks. Try to ship the prize promptly. You should be able to ship it within a week, but if you can’t, PM the winner and let them know. Sometimes life gets in the way! This whole thing works on the honor system so if there are any problems shipping or receiving a prize, it needs to be worked out between the two parties. Don’t forget…Karma! This isn’t a competition, but feel free to be generous! If you can only put up a hat, or a tail for a stunt kite, great! If you have something in your kite bag that you never fly and would be willing to ship, that’s great too. Either way, the people that join to win it will appreciate it. When you receive your prize, post a thank you to the thread where you won it. The thread will be locked after that point so the new **KARMA** stays above it. Good luck, and have fun!
  15. Check out the video on line management. Basically with the kite lying on the ground at full line length, I place handles beside each other lining up ends to same length. Pull top and bottom leaders together towards the back of the padding on the handles and start to wrap the line (I use my right hand on line and left holding handles) wrapping with right hand I put about 10 wraps moving towards end of padding but leaving 1/2 inch or more for completing process later. Once wrapped ten times or so I wrap to the back of the handle with two or three wraps to get back to the starting point. Wrap forward ten or so, back to end and do over till last six inches or so. Wrap till you get about two feet from kite. Disconnect lines from kite and connect to each other with larks head. Now wrap the L and R together until last six inches or so then wrap a couple times around one handle pulling tight and down to secure lines. It’s easy when you see it once. Video is very helpful. Twists in the lines come out so don’t freak out! Good luck!
  16. Some clinic skills have no flying time attached to them but are so invaluable to a complete flyers toolbox. Thank you John Barresi, Riffclown, Eli, Eric and others for a complete clinic experience!
