  1. I saw the current Rev catalog this weekend, and it displayed the 2005 Rev 1 colours as well however I noticed that there was at least one in the KTAI updates that showed a new sail pattern, colour scheme.
  2. There will be no laughing, we'll be cheering you on all the way!
  3. He's also packing his trained monkey...
  4. Thank you John! Your complements are worth a thousand dollars to me plus another few millions from the other quadheads. Yeah, of course, sure, positive, I,... will be there, Right on, I'll look forward to meeting you, its going to be a lot of fun!
  5. he's a bit of a lightweight, shouldnt take more than 2 beers or a few tequila. However, the truly unique rev arrives at B&S today with some luck and no amount of alcohol will pry it from my hands
  6. Heh, you can not imagine how hard that was to write being such a good friend of John's. But, i couldnt find anything bad to say about the kite, its a great package. That being said, I've now had a pile of time on the B Series and I like it even more. The sail pattern looks great in the sky and wow were we trickin' those babies yesterday.
  7. Ya, 4 is about right for IIs. Don't know yet, it has yet to fly however I do have it with me for this trip to Texas John and I leave for tomorrow am! The orange on the 1 stack showed but, not in a bright hideous way.
  8. John has my mango colored one with him, so, I suspect we'll need to do some quad pairs with them! I'm sooo looking forward to SPI!
  9. It looks so easy, in fact, he tied the loops while we were sitting in the restaurant waiting for our dinner to arrive 2/3 the length of the LE? Right? Times 6 attachment points..... (7 if you choose to add one the middle of the LE) Correct. May want to toss an extra foot in for the knotting as well. I'll have pics of the pair together this weekend in Texas. And Ill take one of the stack lines as well. Piece of cake to put together really. My Mini Rev 1 stack has bright orange bridle line connecting it up
  10. I paired that purple one of my (solid purple, pink letters) with a second one last night, solid PINk with purple letters. Of course, I used a bright red brdile line for the stack lines. Pics soon! That being said, I'm very overdue for a set of pictures covering all my kites.
  11. *ahem* That new quad is pictured in the first KTAI update : http://www.kitelife.com/archives/ktai07/1-25/index.htm A little detail on it (before a full review in the February 1st Kitelife issue) - John Barresi's very own custom (complete with an iQuad logo)! - No mylar! (which is true of all Revs this year!) - 2 frames (John will correct me if I am wrong but, I think it comes with a 3 wrap and 4 wrap frame, NO SLE) - Custom handles (much like you've seen John talking about here, with multiple knots for adjustments) - Weighted tips! (its a flic flac machine, its an axelling demon) - John has personally rubbed each one. ok, I'm kidding about the last part Available nearly immediately from great kites shops, like The Kite Shoppe!
  12. You know, I'm giving some thought to working with Rev to specifically do a few Canadian customs, I'll keep ya posted on that.
  13. WOW it suuuuuure is a sexy looking kite...
  14. If you are EXTRA nice, I may post a pic this evening of one...
  15. BAH! I want my monkey kite! Now thats gonna be sexy. (I should have it in my hands soon however)
  16. My lips are sealed beyond "it was pretty damn sweet" me flying it = john flying it = I'll write about for the next Kitelife as well and I intend to beat one up A LOT in Texas at South Padre Island.
  17. JUST to be a monkey, I have FLOWN it.
  18. I echo the sentiment however, someone else will need to deliver his birthday spankings, i'm not going anywhere near his butt. HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVIE! Wow, yer 28. Damn, thats old dude.
  19. *prepares a long rant about the flyer's looks in general* However, loved the video!
  20. ahahaha We survived. Actually, it came off pretty well I think. We had John, myself and Todd which was about all the gym would fit. John has video, you can judge for yourself but, it SURE WAS FUN! :-D Comp-wise, Alan, Wayne and Scott got top3, and Tristan took Hot Tricks Nelson Borelli's single line kites were the hit of the festival, nearly all of the sport kite flyers flew one during the sunday demos, much to Nelson's utter delight.
  21. Definitely a knock off. I keep meaning to take pics of all mine so, once it warms up a little I'll do it again. I know thw last set I took on the REVisions site is out of date.
  22. The drive was certainly interesting at point. But, we got here last n ight and got an iQuad routine happening..... INDOOR STYLEEEEE
  23. My rule of thumb is two thirds the leading edge, so, for Rev IIs, 4 feet. Also, the BOTTOM lines, ie, the tips, will get shortend a weeeee bit, ie, like tying a knot into each side. This helps with stability. You may want to tie 2 on each side, but, start with one.
  24. Just wait, there will be a bloopers reel too.
