  1. I run into it as well, i'd just kind of adapted to it But, yes, I tend to read from 2 places on any given day, work and home.
  2. I find anywhere from 15 - 30 feet to be a good line length for street kiting, 15 is what I use more often than not, its better in confined spaces.
  3. Some photos would be GREAT if you have the time! I'm a visual kinda person! I'm going to cover this in GREAT HIDEOUSLY BORING DETAIL in the next Kitelife, complete with pics and video
  4. ;-) Had to be done, you deserve a whole bunch of kudos for that manual.
  5. I suspect John is a tad late, recovering from a weekend in Canada eh? Flying on an iQuad made up of aboot 5 Canadians no less!
  6. Always be cuter than your kites. (iQuad team manual, section 31, amendent
  7. heh. Well, lets be fair. When the SLE came out in the late 90s, it was met with MUCH enthusiasm (for the most part) by the Rev flying community, and has been a standard issue rod since then. With the exception of the EXP, the 1/4 inch rods have only recently become the "preferred" rod once again. I spent many years flying on them till "someone" prodded me away from them once and for all.

Nah, I think Ant and Must were sharing in some East Coast bashing
  9. Patron all around, finally its REALLY his birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN!
  10. That kite pimp Barresi and I (as well as some of the rest of the iQuad gang) will be down at Ocean Shores this weekend as well, seeya all there!
  11. Ok, when are you and Kadi going to post all the pictures she took
  12. Did you know we (iQuad) watched a fair amount of that up on the boardwalk before we went into the banquet? You guys looked great.
  13. Ah but my fine friend, you DO fly with a lof of soul and passion right now. :-)
  14. It certainly helps me when flying with your ugly mugs.
  15. Thats not entirely true. I have certainly flown them before, and as recently as February. And if you dig deep enough into the Revisions articles on my site, you'll see I've written about them quite a bit too, favourably. I just prefer Revs. A lot.
  16. I'm waiting for the one you modelled for. Mind you, yer so damn skinny we could put you on a supersonic.
  17. Lite Beer = dual line kite Nice, dark ale = quad line kite ya, it works I guess.
  18. Thats mock beer yer drinkin' there my friend. We'll find you some real stuff when I arrive k? lite = foofy non beer
  19. One of these days I'm either going to find my missing 1.5 sticks bridle or I'm going to tie one up myself again. I only flew with it on for a week or so, thus I don't remember much about the difference so it'd be fun to relook at it. There just isn't enough hours in the day lately.
  20. Im pretty sure we'll roll in Thursday evening as well, Im picking John (with Steve and Todd already in tow) late thursday afternoon, so however long it takes us to get from the Newark Airport to Wildwood. Google Maps suggests 2.5 hours however, I think we'll be in whatever East Coast rush hour is like through that area.
  21. Oh yes. Moving with the pressure of other lines on yours can be a bit disorienting at first, but, you do get used to it, as I'm sure you found. And Ant? It won't take long. The key I find is to try and avoid thinking about it and simply keep your eyes locked onto your own kite. Two other key moves that get used a lot in team flying : 1] 180 degree turns, in place, ie, a complete change of direction. 2] Tip pivots up, and down, ie, a leading edge forward half circle either down or up, approx the height of the rev you will be replacing in the line. is it Wildwood time yet? (And I'll vouch for Jim Cosca and Paul LaMasters being GREAT guys)
  22. Did you have the thong on as well?
  23. Indeed, she's here with me! Thaaaank you and Happy Birthday to Lam Hoac as well!
  24. There's a great Argentinian campsite available. In Yakima.
