  2. Got this in the mail today from my brother in law. Nice addition to my Single Lines. NTK Sojourn http://www.newtechki....php?PSKU=54504
  3. Holy crap thats a big 'un. Congrats!!
  4. She looks good with black hair huh?
  5. You need to get a matching wig for her then, no? a big dew with 50 100ft tails!! Would be a site, thats for sure. lol
  6. WOOWOOO!!! Happy Birthday to YOU!!!
  7. hehe, no problem m8. Nonetheless heres a couple visual aids to go along with that description. I cut the tips off at about half way, just to streamline it a bit. You can also plug the holes with the material you cut off, so you don't get them stuffed with mud n dirt. Hows the cold weather out there?
  8. you can also use apa standoff conneectors as yoyo stoppers. i'll have to take a couple pics of my kites with them on. i'm on my pmp so i dont want to go into great detaiil, but they work great! very durable (moreso than others i've used) and a dime a dozen.
  9. No problem bro. Glad to see you are getting those wrap ups. Do your Leading Edge a favour, and stick some black duct tape right above your yoyo stoppers (I use a 3" x 1 1/2" piece, folding it lengthwise over the L.E.). The line will rub and wear on the tape, instead of the raw leading edge. Repeat this process on the trailing edge as well, where the lines make contact (for my Widow, its from my inner standoffs to around 3" out from the outer standoff.). If you're worried about lower spreader wear from your lines (most likely from your STD [high winds]), I've heard of ppl using a straw to cover the spot inbetween their APA standoff connectors. Just cut to length, slice the straw lengthwise, and snap it on.
  10. lol thats what the first sentence was directed towards! lol The cooler is appealing to my Canuck Nature.
  11. hehe, yeah man, that'll help for sure. lol I totally forgot about the couple of twists in the line Kent! Duane, that definitely helps. I actually tend to fly dual line with a couple twists in the line at all times. I find the kite easier to control.
  12. I can't count (literally) how many times people have asked Mary Beth and I if we were pregnant yet. Maybe Im just wierd like that (or a stuffy Canadian), but I think that's a pretty personal question. lol About your guest room, you'd have to drag me out of there kicking and screaming,, keep that in mind if I ever go to your place. lol "Lock Up The Kites! JoneZ is Coming!" ...keep them secret,,, keep them safe....
  13. Now that my collection is getting up there, it's really cluttering a corner of my house, but I don't know where to really put them. I was thinking about some kind of shelf system, something that is easy to access, but keeps the kites off the ground, out of the corner, yet keeps them displayed -- like a gun rack (reminiscent of waynes world huh? lol) or something similar? Im interested to see what others have devised to display or store their kites.
  14. Yeah... It was odd.. I woke up New Years morning, in the desert in Eastern Oregon with no clothes, and a backpack full of pennies... o.0
  15. LoL No chance man! Come on,,, Luck be my lady!!!!!!! The Wife needs a Rev to fly pairs!!!
  16. Clear as a whistle out here. Im thinking of braving the cold. lol
  17. Oh!! I meant to mention, that I took out all the knots off my top leader lines, except for the last knot, and that lengthened the leader line to about 11.5". So that'll do me until I can get over to T and snag some bridle line (Costs about 5 gallons of gas to get to Vancouver and back in the Jeep. o.0). I added another set of knots on my bottom leaders, so I"ll just adjust from there in the meantime.
  18. I highly agree with this. As stated, I flew dual line first, and hopping onto a rev, I could instantly tell that this would be easier to advance on. Dual lines are great for tricking, but the tricks get harder. And boy.... Do they get harder. lol A lot of dual fliers out there have practiced for years and years to master tricks. They make it look SO easy. lol So, here what I think.... Get a dual AND a quad!! I promise you wont regret it!
  19. Makes you drool for a Rev huh?
  20. hehe thanks man. I 'feel' quads more. Im sure (once my cold runs its course) more practice time out there, and my learning curve will shoot 90o. I think Im a natural at it (nothin like floating ones own boat huh? lol). Thanks for the tweaks out on the field. I moved the knots up on the top and bottom bungees on my down spars to tighten up the sail. I can't wait to get her out there!!!! I was pretty determined today to go out and fly, but my head quickly filled up with "sick" (feels 10lbs heavier today) so I better not press my luck. lol
  21. Helloo and Welcome!! I think they are both equal in the learning area, if you are a new flier. Both are very different in the way you fly them. Quads will be more expensive (higher cost of lines [x4 instead of x2], handles), and duals will be a touch cheaper (correct me someone if Im wrong here) with being able to buy different 'classes' (beginner, intermediate, competition classes). I started off on a dual line kite and had a blast for a year on them before getting my first Rev last week. But its really a matter of taste. If you know someone with a dual or a quad, give both of them a whirl. If you just 'want to get out there' and fly, go pick yourself up a dual line kite -- "Level One Jump", a "New Tech Cherry Bomb", a "Prism Nexus" or a "Prism Quantum". All of those are under $100 (the "Jump" is around $120, but well worth it in my opinion), and will get you out there flying in no time. You can troll around the internet and pick up a Revolution SLE for around $200, and may be able to find lines included, so all you'd have to buy are handles. It's WELL WORTH the investment in my opinion -- Rev's are just so darn fun!!! Hope that helps (although I may have made your choice a little harder. lol)
  22. hehe, Glad I was able (in my rev newbness) to hold my Rev steady enough for that picture! Good times Everyone!!
  23. Just wanted to let y'all know that I changed my forum handle to JoneZ Spz0 is a pretty outdated handle for me. Cheers all.
