  1. Was a great day for a fly (even though the rain was a major part of the day.). Had a blast. Thanks for the fly, and the comradery. Cheers all!!!
  2. Oh hey! another option in regards to the leader lines, is to attach a piece of 150# kite line from left leader line to right -- making long enough that it doesn't interrupt normal inputs, but not so loose as to be flopping all over the place (getting caught on the kites tail). This will keep the lines taught when wrapping up, making sure your lines don't catch below the yoyo stoppers. Hope that helps. As for the kite tubes? Maybe a hand cart? LoL
  3. Hey Duane. It's really a matter of the proper slack vs. even right/left tug. You're giving too much slack if your lines are slopping around. If your lines wrap on one side of the kite, chances are that you didn't give an even tug for the initial wrap. If you're still struggling, make yourself some 6ft. leader lines with 150# bridle line. Toss an overhand knot at one end, and an overhand loop at the other -- larkshead that line to your kite, then attach to your line. The bridle line is heavier, and tends to 'drop' better, making easier wrap ups. Its also a lot more kind on your leading edges when you're wrapped up. Keep in mind, It adds extra weight to your setup, so its really only effective for medium to higher wind ranges -- low wind, you should be fine with just the kite line itself. Hope that helps m8.
  4. ah yes. A frame makes a difference for sure (holding handles now). It's really foreign to me (the hand positions), and something Im sure I'll get use to. Rev's all washed up, waiting to get dirty on new years day! heheh. Im getting sick (I think), but hell or high water, IM THERE!!
  5. Strangeness. Now its working again. I made 2 tests -- #1 is on the dedicated page. #2 is in the module. But good to know about the dedicated page there. Next time Im having issues, I'll use the ded. page.
  6. Blech... As soon as I said that, I tried to post in the shoutbox, and it's not posting again, even with clearing the cache. Im lost.
  7. Different strokes I suppose,,, I just like the little fox. And the security options.
  8. LoL. My beauty is in a class all its own. That way, it's guaranteed the Goose. hehe Although its (and I say IT because it hasn't spoken a gender to me yet) name eludes me, Im sure in more airtime it'll speak its name to me.
  9. I think Duane just said that he would buy us all tickets down to FL to fly!!!! Holy dude! Im There! What time does our flight leave???? hehehe j/k
  10. Whats to be said about putting your pinky fingers behind the handles, as opposed to gripping the handle? That would make it much easier on the wrists, and I don't really use them for anything asides from leverage (as stated in a post of yours I read) anyhow.
  11. K Im starting to get the theory a bit more on handle tuning. I can see how this tuning (in theory) would really be beneficial in higher winds, but not so much in the lower winds. Then again, its just something to get use to -- like getting use to holding dual line straps with 3 fingers as opposed to putting your your hands through the wrist straps. I just need to get use to the rather uncomfortable wrist position, and making it work for me. I've never wanted to fly so bad as I do now. lol Damn snow/rain... hehe
  12. Bahhh. My Wife is coming down with a cold, and may not make it to the fly day. As its looking now, its going to be a soaking wet day (thrus and fri). I mean REAL wet. They're calling for 2"-4"!!! Delta park is gonna be a slush pit for sure. lol Sunday is looking very promising for decent weather. I think I may hit Delta park on Sun. as well. Im just hoping (knock on wood) that I don't catch this cold.
  13. K, the old cache was the problem. If anyone is having issues with the shoutbox not posting, clear your cache (CTRL+F5 on main forum page for FIREFOX. For IE users, get Firefox. )
  14. Yeppers. As of this morning, still can't 'shout'. Going to clear KLs cache and try again. will post the results.
  15. I have been pretty static in my body motions when flying. I don't think I can handle that much at this point, until I get the basics mastered,,,, fly up, hover, fly down. Invert -- fly up, hover, down -- slides, etc... The hands in that cocked position (for forward drive) just don't do my wrists good at all. hehe. All those years of computer programming gave me a nasty bout of carpal tunnel, and ulnar nerve issues. by the looks of it, I'll be able to cancel my gym membership once I really get into quad flying, by the way you're movin' out on the field. lol
  16. 2"...pfft.... Gimme 2 feet!!! I miss the snow so much! The Canuck in me is extremely satisfied right now. lol Paintings been real slow this winter. Probably the worst we've experienced. Kind of putting a hinder on getting my immigration papers through. =\ Been doing a little web designing here and there, some rogue network admin and repair, and pickin up whatever painting side jobs I can find. Been pretty blessed this year, despite the recession, and compared to last year we're rollin in it. lol
  17. Wicked man. I'll give all these a look over tonight.
  18. Heck yeah!!! how you diggin' this snow Jb? Got about 2" so far here in O.C.
  19. Ok, someones gotta explain this to me: About the length of the leader lines. Just for sh!ts n giggles, I hooked my top leaders on the very last knot (farthest from the handle), and the bottom lines on the knot closest to the handles. That has to be the MOST uncomfortable hand position I've experienced -- I had to adjust my hands so the bottom handles were practically touching the top lines (if ya dig), in order to get decent lift. So,, whats with the long top leaders? I just don't get it. If I tie them off at the midway point, its so much easier to control, and so much easier on my hands. Im new to the theory, so go easy on me folks. lol
  20. I've got 3 wrap UL spars in the L.E. and the down spars. I was thinking of picking up a couple/few replacement spars just incase. Im sure I"ll blow something out eventually. As long as its not the sail, we're good. hehe. Did I mention I <3 my Rev? And so does my Siamese. lol Every time I've broken it down indoors, she crawls under it in an attempt to burrow. lol Cuteness. I'll have to get a pic sometime. All you can see are these little blue and red eyes from under the sail. Very 'darkside'esq.
  21. Having some shoutbox issues. Doesn't seem to want to post.
  22. hehe, thankyou thankyou. Ya know, I think Im actually having an easier time learning quad line than I did learning dual line kiting. Just a whack of fun man! I also love how you can slam the snot out of your rev into the ground, and suffer no damage!! lol Excellent for my learning curve.
  23. Heavy rain however could be a thang. lol So lets focus that energy into NO RAIN!!!! : D
  24. wanted an Archos IMT for his Bday,,, got a REV!!!! Even Better!!!!

  25. So they're talking about windy and somewhat rainy on Friday. Im focusing all my Reiki on it being a good day on Friday. I think if everyone who is planning on attending focuses their energy on the same, we might get a really nice day out of it!!! K ready? GO!!!!
