  1. Baloo - you gonna name them George, too? Pitiful attempt at pleading with the RNG!! Yes, it has psychic powers way beyond our imagination, but trying to fool it? Not very likely!!
  2. SHHH!! You'll awaken the RNG prematurely and risk it's wrath!!! Might be a little soon to start yelling things!!!
  3. UPDATE - used Kitemail with no problems at all! Everything seems to be OK from my end!!
  4. That man qualifies as completely nuts or crazy or both!!! I loved the warning at the beginning!!
  5. Over there - Down Under,,,,,,,,Ain't believing any of that!!!! Kite's staying right here (in my bag)!!! Give up now before the RNG delivers this one to me!!! You are getting sleepy, sleepy, sleepy............SNORE!!!
  6. Nice to see that everybody's back to working order!!! Let the banter continue!!!
  7. I've gotta better idea than a "time out"!! A "drawing out"! Keep up the noise and.......... All with the RNG's permission of course!!
  8. Update - After a few initial problems, all seems to be in order now!! Using XP and Chrome, old machine, but seems to be in good order here!!
  9. Katrina - over here too? Bout time - HAHA!! Stacked SS's? I think I'd have my hands full with 1!!
  10. Don't you do it, Baloo!! And risk being a # hog!!
  11. Nick - I'm using Chrome on my Windows XP equipped system and it is ancient by today's standards!! I started using it over FF because I could get videos a bit faster!! Might try it on 1 machine to have something to compare it to? Just a thought!
  12. Odds - shmodds!!! Just go back under those rocks and Fuggetaboutit!!! I'm willing to get a late Xmas present!! SO - BACK OFF! Nicely, of course!!!
  13. Did you make any adjustments to your Wala? I loosened the spine line to give the sail a little more sag and it seems to glide better for me!! Some like it tight to do loops with it!! I'd say try it outside if you can first, so as to not risk it hitting hard floors!! Like I said - it doesn't look like the eagle is a "true" glider as we know one!!
  14. I looked at the reel at WSKIF and saw the line ran in the yokes at the end of each spoke!! Then through the ceramic guide at the end of the rod attached to the reel! He used the reel in his left hand and reeled in with his right! Used the weight of the kite to take line and reeled when he had it closer!! My own judgement was that it had to keep moving, not a glider as we know one!! The Wala is a good choice for learning the reel I think!! Lots slower than the eagle, that's for sure!!
  15. OO!!! Vents!!! I like it - a lot!!!!
  16. Update: Only problem I had today was the main page log-in didn't work for me!! Got in through going to the forum, then signing in! All drop downs, emoticons, editing, etc, seem OK today!!
  17. How many kites does a kiteflier need? Just one more!!!
  18. I'm guessing it's you, Miss Penny Wearne!! I saw the reel - eagle combo used indoors at WSIKF this year, but the mechanics of it left me speechless! Does the reel have a short rod that the line runs through? I do know it's used like some use a control rod for their gliders! And a finger is used to wind the reel, but I didn't get a chance to try it myself!! All I remember is winding with that reel was way efficient and super fast!! I'm known on FB as Wayne, some of the forums use stroke survivor!! Us Glider Geeks need to stick together!!
  19. John - just went to the topic that locked me up and had no further problem! Every other topic has had normal reply areas and emoticons!! Might log in later to see if it is all working good!! But as of now, it seems to be "normal"! Editing works fine too!
  20. Indeed , THANKS for just being a good friend!!
  21. Ron - Congrats!! Fly it well!! Only off by 1 digit - 844! Hey RNG - you're getting warmer!!! Get that picking cap on and warm up those circuits a little better!! Rob - no air conditioner - PLEASE!! Indoor means no outside wind, you supply the needed wind!! Ask JB!!
  22. I get to use my son's old Rev2 at times, but I slow it down by putting it on my 1.5 90# x 120' long lines!! Feels like a feather at the end of the strings!! Really fun with a set of Rev2 race rods!!
  23. I'm using XP and Chrome! Got stuck in one topic, couldn't navigate anywhere else, even to log off! One subject had this tiny answer box drop down, no emoticons, couldn't edit! At times I get this outline type nav site before going to the forum, but this time it was a direct route! So some issues are not just IE8 only!! If I find any other issues, I'll let you know!! I deliberately messed up some things to see if I could edit my message - OK for now!!
  24. SparkieRob - interesting idea, but it comes with a caution!! Indoor kite has no bridle to spread out your inputs and in anything more than a puff, can be in danger, real fast!! That's not to say it can't be done, just not recommended!! That is what the Zen was created for - no wind outdoors!! But that comes with it's own warning - it's a bigger kite (Rev1 size) and flies completely different from the 1.5s!! Much slower and graceful, not the sports car of the 1.5 size! Think of it as a Rolls compared to a Ferrari!!
  25. Always error on the side of caution if you can by using strong enough rods in the sail for wind conditions!! It's not that hard to swap out rods if you need to, but always (as a beginner) go to the strong side if you are in doubt!! But this come with a warning - don't put a strong frame in an already overpowered kite and risk stretching out your sail beyond some simple tightening of bungees!! Yes, it's an addiction, but don't ruin sails to the point of no return, when you realize that what you really need is another kite for the conditions!! If anything, I'm almost always trying to make a kite too vented work in too low a wind!! Part of it is my fear of too much pull, sometimes too lazy to change, or just a bad decision to start!! Just start on the safe side first, then as you get on a while, it'll be easier to choose the right setup!!
