    Kit Bag

You can create a simple sling using a length of rope to carry 5 or 6 kites.
  2. Very cool video, but the Painted Desert is still tops for me. I'd pop for the DVD.

The SLE leading edge tube makes a great wading staff if you use a bit of paper to jam the ferrules together.
  4. Damn. I'm less than average. You don't know the damage that causes to my psyche. I have to buy 4 more. We warned you, did you listen? Of course not. I'll be hitting 14 in a couple of days. You still have a long way to go before you realize true addiction, but if you practice really hard .......
  5. That means I must be the Jerry Lewis of kiting.
  6. It is not important which quad-line kite you purchase; they are all difficult to fly for anyone who is just beginning. Some kites, because of their design, are very difficult to control, even for experienced fliers. Talk to the people on the German forum and buy something that is easy to learn. Stay away from small-sized and fast-speed kites, as these will give you very little time to react. For the same reason, use lines that are 30m or longer. Larger kites and longer lines are more forgiving to beginners. Finally, buy what you can afford, but remember that it is favorable to get a good quality used kite than a poor quality new kite. Most of all, keep smiling, have fun and don't forget to breathe.
  7. I use Google Maps Earth View -- lots faster than KAPing. Just kidding, keep the pictures coming, I love them all.
  8. I have designed and built kites similar to the Revs for my personal use -- see my avatar and my gallery photos on the Rev forum -- some fly well, others not very well. None of them fly as well as the Revolution kites. Reason? The design of the Rev has evolved from 95% perfect in 1988, to 99.9% perfect with the introduction of the B-Pro. Every different design has its own peculiarities and personality, but the Revolution design is the best blend of flight characteristics possible, so far. That is why there are so many imitations out there. I'll let everyone know when I design something that flies better, but don't hold your breath while you wait; you'll turn blue.
  9. John, you should get in, I'm thinking you could use this, if you win, to invent Dogstake KAPing. I'm thinking dual-line, maybe, hmmmm............. (KAP-view of you).
  10. We're losing too many subscribers. Why, John? What do we need to do in order to keep them? I joined May 31 2012. There were about 360 back then; almost 300 joined since and we only have 342 now. We need every active member to get out there in 2015 and get 10 people each permanently hooked on kiting.
  11. Congratulations, Chuck. That was so close. My number is 978. However, with all the kites I got this year, it would have gone back into the pool anyway. It would have increased the drama, though.
  12. There's no time like the present. What are you waiting for? It will get you sooner or later. Don't waste time; you'll miss so many smiles if you do.
  13. Hi, Brucifer, and welcome to the forum. Good Luck to you.
  14. Very nice -- looks like Barresi's dock. Did you get permission?
  15. Very nice -- so far my favorite is still the Painted Desert.

    First rev

There are lots of fliers in the UK with lots of kites. Hang in there, someone will probably have one he can spare for a modest price.
  17. I just got a Jabra Solemate Mini, so I'm not playing this time. Although the Jabra doesn't clip to the belt, I figure I'll try it before I replace it.
  18. Nice stack, looks great in the sky. In 15-20mph wind I think you may end up riding the grass on your _ _ _ . Let us know how it go. Video if you get some. Have fun and don't forget to breathe.
  19. Sweet -- especially when the wind blows in the Wright direction.
