  1. A dab of rubber cement or a wrap or two of painters' tape will do the trick. I've used it in some home-made sails (see my avatar for instance) that turned out a bit longer or taller than intended.
  2. By the way, hi, Amber and hi, Robert. Welcome to the forum. Any questions you have about flying any kind of kite will be answered here. Many experienced flyers here who are always happy to help.
  3. Alright, Nick! Now you know, it's all perseverance and time on the handles. Stick with it. It will reveal itself in a series of plateaus, each one a new joy to be treasured. Sweet field, great view.
  4. Nice kite, nice flying!
  5. I can set up my Revs in about 2.5 minutes, if I'm in a hurry. It depends mostly on leaving your handles attached to the lines.
  6. Nice, that should do the trick. You'll probably be making your own custom handles before you know it.
  7. I also suspect that the bridle may not be as it should. It would help very much if you posted pictures (close-up) of the kite hooked up to the pigtails with the lines taut, and the handles with lines attached, taut and at the same attitude as the picture of the kite.
  8. Can't wait to try mine, should be here sometime in September.
  9. When the wind drops below zero, into negative numbers, you're facing in the wrong direction!
  10. Only 680 miles from me ...... hmmmm.
  11. Zycze Ci gladki wiatr.
  12. Click on your handle (upper right), then on my profile, then edit.
  13. And thank you for asking.
  14. Hi, and welcome to the forum. I'm more quad-line than dual, but can help with some things. Ask what you need to know and many others on this forum will chime in with answers. Also, check us out at "ikeclub.org", many there who can help.
  15. Yes, it's fun. Just another thing you can easily do with a Rev that's either difficult or impossible with other kites. Try 55-gallon drums, like the garbage cans you find in parks. If they are empty and clean inside, you can also fly part way into them. Picnic tables are something you can have some fun with also. Tree trunks can be challenging, but be careful not to tangle when unpasting. You can also move soccer balls around with the kite.
  16. I agree with Wayne. If you are new to Revs, you will have an easier and quicker time learning with a long 90# set, 100' or 120'. The heavier and longer the line is, the slower the kite will move, thus giving you just a bit more time to react to its movement. It will also allow you to fly in heavier wind when the lighter line would have a chance of breaking. Multiple sets is the ideal way to go if your budget allows. Most people use 120' x 90# when flying in groups or pairs. The lighter and shorter sets are nice for practice sessions. If you fly regularly on shorter lines you will be amazed how much easier it seems when you switch to the long lines.
  17. No apology necessary, I'm just being a jackass. His user name is LMOAKS, lower case, I believe.
  18. I LIKE -- Don't have a glider. This would be a great way to get started.
  19. It seems nothing works, so next time that's what I'm doing -- nothing!
  20. Congratulations, Arieh. Fly, fly, fly. Enjoy and don't forget to breathe. Nuts, I still need a mid.
  21. Check E-Bay once or twice a week for used ones. Look for something with lines and handles. Post the listing item number here and experienced flyers can advise you. You can contact E-Bay seller "flt101" about his listings. I have purchased from him before and have been satisfied. I believe he has quite a few Revs available. He may have a beater with lines and handles he can let go cheap. Even with major wear on the sail it should fly well. I have kites that I've been beating on (including learning) for six years and they show the wear but fly just fine.
  22. Yeah, Fred. Good show. Enjoy!
  23. my kite tomorrow night
  24. Happy Birthday, Wayne. However, that won't help.
