  1. Moving yourself backwards slowly and steadily helps a lot. Try it, you should see a dramatic improvement.
  2. Hi, erynfaith. Welcome to the forum. Lots of good people, and good info. Any questions you have, ask, and you'll have tons of people helping. Don't forget to breathe and smile!
  3. I had the Freestyle Pilot DVD -- very good! Best suggestion I can give you is watch one segment until you are sick of it, then go out and try it. If you watch them all and try to remember just one, it will be quite difficult that way.
  4. I just bought all the available wind in this country. Send the kite to me, or I will not release any wind!
  5. Guys, this isn't a Karma drawing. 365 subscribers are in!
  6. Sweet, haven't flown yet this year. Maybe in the next couple of weeks. Got cabin fever real bad.
  7. Just remember, when you're headed straight at the ground very fast, you can ease up on the throttle.
  8. Never saw this video before -- nice flying!
  9. You don't throw it like a javelin. You throw it like an atlatl.
  10. ......and I thought this was a family-friendly forum.......
  11. Here, in the midwest, we just call it taking a break.
  12. See first paragraph... That seller should have found KiteLife, eh? <grin> And John, that was just a dual line set. Imagine what it would have been like, if it had been quad ? But, that was a long time ago, and water over the dam. (glad to see you back) Really, that doesn't look that bad at all -- compared to a couple of times I tangled Rev lines when I first started flying quad.
  13. Hi, and welcome. Watch out for that Barresi guy. He thinks he owns the place! Oh, wait, he does. Wishing you smooth, fair winds -- good flying!
  14. sssshhhhh !!! You're supposed to figure that out for yourself.
  15. Nice flying. Looks like veeeeeeery close to 0 wind.
  16. Hi, Rudy, and welcome to the forum and the dark side. Also, check in at ikeclub.org, (Illinois Kite Enthusiasts). Another good free club and forum for Midwest people. All the area kite festivals will be posted there too. You don't have to be in Illinois to join and it costs nothing.
  17. Bourbon is the place that I'd like to be, therefore this kite will be coming to me. (It's poetic justice)
  18. Put the camera in your car aimed out the window, lock the car.
  19. Use the longest lines you have; this kite is super fast and anything you can do to slow it down will give you more time to react. I have full sail Supersonics. The vented, I'm guessing, won't fly in wind under 8 mph. The full sail likes 5 mph or better, up to about 15 which is my limit. Don't want to work any harder than that. DO NOT fly near people with this kite until you have ABSOLUTE control.
  20. It also helps if you fly with lots of brake, this will allow the kite to slide flatter. Think of it this way: if your kite is all go and no brake, how can you slam the brake?
  21. I try to use the "hey, can you set up my kite? I gotta go to the washroom" technique as often as possible, and it works very well for me.
