  1. Sorry cut myself short.... Effectively , changing the dimension of that side of the kite. From your picture...I would check the main center rod that is bowed on each side.
  2. I alike don't know too much...but with the walas I learned , if the rods are held in the kite by the material and not via end caps,knocks,etc.. your threading or material at that point may be failing causing it to pull to that side.
  3. The anticipation builds..... Come to butthead! Oops,...papa!
  4. I agree that any public place is fair game ... But you have to be respectful. Living in a beach community....there are always complaints and issues with kitesurfers, landboarders, blokarts, etc. I try to be respectful as possible with pedestrians, and other kiters...... Ok sometimes they are just asking for it! But you get the idea.
  5. Agreed. It can still get frustrating sometimes, as my best low wind kite right now is my full sail SLE with race rods, and all of my line sets are #90, but I'm eyeballing a roll of #50 and maybe there's a Zen in my future... I think I may pull the trigger on a Prism 4D. I was reading another thread and it was recomended as an inexpensive low wind kite. I may even be able to learn how to do some cool stunts with one of those!Dealing with the wind conditions may have slowed my learning curve in some ways, but I've found that when I go somewhere with better wind (like the beach) I have better control than I thought. I know I've improved since I was in CA last summer, so I can't wait to get down to the coast and get some smooth wind practice. Who knows, I may suprise myself! I found that all the low wind hard hork will make you a better all around flyer in every situation
  6. One of those kind of days!

Tried to get a pic next to the Flexfoil Rasta with my Rev....don't think he was feeling it!

  7. Geez...I was busy drooling over the vented and almost forgot.....this baby is about too pop! Sure would be nice to have a nice new ,crisp, full sail again!
  8. 25182 steps during work today...10.95 miles and 1200 calories later....its time for a beer and some kite time!

  9. 16000 steps before lunch... Ooooweeee!

  10. Ihave found the xl easier to fly and deal with on low to no wind conditions. Although, I have flown the xl more than the wala . Being the same kite...just different scale, they are 2 different animals and need coaxing in different ways.
  11. Chedder brats, oatmeal cookies, hearty garlic pickles, Moscato wine......

    Dinner of champions!

  12. Love the yellow!....not sure about the pics. I'm sure someone will point you the right direction soon.
  13. School district huh?

Let them kids walk in the street! #7146

  14. Is it really Monday?

Here comes the local lawn guys to ruin your bbq...

  15. The whole top half was butter cream icing on the patriotic... The other was strawberry drizzle and filled with cream cheese icing...w/chocolate berry on top. :)

  16. Sort of similar situations..... I live on the east coast,Florida, when the wind is out of the west,it makes for "washing machine" wind on the beach due to hotels height...etc... It will be frame breaking one moment and falling from the sky the next... Sometimes fun, some times not
  17. Death of a Race Rod....R.I.P. my friend, you served me very well!

In my haste togo from barefoot soccer field fun to water play on a large pond.....instead of switching to shorter lines , I left 80's on which set my kite in the non-manicured landscape area for launch...one short tug...POP...all my fault! I feel so guilty that I might just have to buy a pair of frames.....so it has company!

  18. Time for some barefoot soccer feild fun...beach is packed!

  19. Yes, thankfully only 50'. My wife laughed for hours as I untangled them I thought to myself then....imagine 120's. I was just fortunate enough to retrieve everything. I was about waist deep when I dropped the handle in the surf and the kite was due east in deeper water
  20. Nice outside! Me thinks it's time to "Spread my Wings and Fly!"

  21. I feel the same way. I recently got an answer about my particular location, as another forum member"Oats" shared a short video with me of him flying there at sunset...made for a very nice background!Although the wind was blowing the wrong way to get the building into play...being on the river bank made for a nice scene of part of Downtown Jacksonville at sunset. Maybe we can convince him to share it...
  22. It's been a little quiet..... and I have reached my 2 beer limit...or I am close to my 3 beer limit Actually just bored Not long ago......I dropped a handle while flying my rev...in the ocean....as the kite went down in the ocean also. The end result is in the photo. BUT.....never fear! With some patience and time ....All can be well! Any horror stories? I did not research the subject...so sorry if it has been brought not long ago
  23. You think geek squad will be upset...when i bring back the loaner phone with a busted screen...and pick up my phone that was just repaired for a busted screen ;) That makes #6 this year!
