  1. Meeting with @acrop and her family at the National Air and Space Museum leads to a bit of indoor glider flying. They didn't kick me out!
  2. Generally not very good things happen when a line is removed from any of my kites. A truly talented person simultaneously yells OUT! When that happens lol Sent from my [device_name] using http://KiteLife mobile app
  3. Unsure about that one, however you could get an old Ultra by TC Powers and go dual, quad and with a little work, single line Sent from my [device_name] using http://KiteLife mobile app
  4. You'd definitely lose your soul for such a heinous act of kite brutality Sent from my [device_name] using http://KiteLife mobile app
  5. April, I'll convince you to get rid of all those evil dark side quads and bask in the good pure single line glider side during my DC trip Sent from my [device_name] using http://KiteLife mobile app
  6. This is a good read for anyone interested in Horvath and his kites. https://www.horvath.ch/en/balance-between-air-and-kite/ Sent from my [device_name] using http://KiteLife mobile app
  7. When I first started flying, it was with a dual line kite and that was all I flew for well over a year. I then decided to go after quad line kites and flew both for years later. After a while I started to really appreciating single line kites for their simplicity and (generally) low maintenance. I'd fly a single line and also fly either a dual or quad at the same time. Generally I enjoy variety and there's just so many cool aspects to kiting I like to experience them all. I see many posts urging people experience "The Dark Side" when they enjoy dual line kites. I challenge people to consider "All Sides" of kiting. It's very rewarding to me
  8. You definitely have me beat by few years. I started back in 1993. I don't remember ever seeing that kite before.
  9. Wow, thats really similar to Lam's quad kites. What year was that kite made? I'm sure it predates Lam's Sent from my [device_name] using http://KiteLife mobile app

  11. @SHBKF Yes, that is Interstate 40 and 85 (right before 85 splits south and 40 splits west). @ACrop How far do you live from Reston, VA? I'm going to be there next week for a class I'm taking for work. Driving up this Sunday and leaving Friday. @Lynn Gray Pugh Thanks!
  12. LMAO, there are deer, snakes, raccoons, bears, coyotes, etc... in the area. Zero Alligators. I bought The Long Way Home and a Urban Ninja Building Set in November of last year. I bought the I'll Be Back, Darling kites in March but only recently received them. So 4 total, however only 3 were built by him, the Ninja was built by me. Horvath kites, aren't cheap. But in my opinion worth it. There's really nothing like the experience of flying The Long Way Home on a windless day (unlike the video) and there's plenty of room.
  13. Here's a video I created this past Sunday flying "The Long Way Home" glider
  14. It's back to normal for me John. Thanks! Sent from my [device_name] using http://KiteLife mobile app
  15. Thank you so much for having this competition and really honored to have competed against so many excellent flyers. I'm especially impressed with Adam, with more time and practice I won't have a prayer of a chance against him again. Extremely well done all!
  16. Same experience here. The app says I'm not logged in, however I am and unread forum threads is empty Sent from my [device_name] using http://KiteLife mobile app
  17. Yes, I remember you really enjoying the iFlite vented, April. Gliders are a lot of fun and very relaxing.
  18. This is what Thomas wrote me about the kites and fabric. "Both little kites will fly better and better, the more they are used. the sails will get softer and silky, but they will never break."
  19. Yes, very sturdy material. I've never seen sail material like this before. Looks like spectra threads sandwiched between two pieces of film. The "I'll be Back" is a very slow glider like the Zen. The "C'est La Vie, Darling" has a faster glide, but still floaty. It's like a smaller version of "The Long Way Home"
  20. Here's a video I created of two glider kites made by Thomas Horvath. They are purchased as a set of kites and are both made with a Spectra Laminate sail material. The first half of the video shows the "I'll be Back" glider kite, the second half is the "C'est La Vie, Darling" kite. As with most Horvath kites, the names are unique I hope you enjoy the video https://www.youtube.com/embed/fZDEefycPag
