Rev needs some personality training...

You watched his tutorial videos?

3 steps to kite flying:

1: The kite flies you! Always reacting to the kite, behind in control! Doesn't take long to get past this point in your flying career!

2: You fly the kite! Start to understand what makes the kite go, you've learned some control over the kite! Most at least reach this stage!

3: You and the kite fly together! That "AH-HA" moment when you are in almost complete control and can do almost anything! Very few get this far, takes a lot of practice and knowing your equipment! Wonder why there aren't more JBs in the world? :ani_idea:

Get a few tickets for "JB for the weekend", might be able to get you up and running in the right direction!

Intent.

Purpose.

Do you just fly around or are you making the effort to "do that move"? A lot of it comes down to intent and purpose. Think of each move like a deck of cards. JB is "playing his hand". All seamlessly woven sequences.

Practice the moves. Practice going out of one into another. It's the transitions that give the fluidity to a sequence.

Practice. Practice. Practice. But always leave time for carving! I love doing moves, my transitions are getting better but I really love tearing up the sky!!

Failing that, kidnap JB....... desert island....... lessons...... pro kites.....

I agree with all the above, and I'd like to add....

Brake. I think you need more brake in your leader setup (plenty of good info about leaders and tuning here, I'd link to it but I'm on the smartphone). If your kite is flying how I imagine based on your description, it sounds like the wind isn't hitting your sail square. Too much forward in your setup will give you that floaty with lots of understeer feeling, like it could fly itself almost.

The tradeoff is: activity. You will need to be more direct with the Rev governing its every move, so you will be physically working harder.

Hope it helps.
