Craig Best Posted June 11, 2014 Report Posted June 11, 2014 I recently purchased my first quad line.....a Rev 1.5 SLE....and have been very disappointed! No, not in the kite but the weather has been rainy every day since I got it and haven't been able to get it out yet. I'm very excited at the prospects of a sunny, rain free day tomorrow. 2 Quote
Wayne Dowler Posted June 11, 2014 Report Posted June 11, 2014 Look for good wind, about 8-10mph! Easier to learn in! Nothing worse than trying to fly in what amounts to no winds! Welcome to a life long trip of enjoyment, with some frustration along the way!! Study the tutorials on lines, winding, setup and basic moves!! IMPORTANT - if the kite is gonna crash - GIVE TO THE KITE!! Step forward, throw your hands forward! Pulling back only drives the kite harder into the ground! 1 Quote
makatakam Posted June 11, 2014 Report Posted June 11, 2014 Hi, Craig. Welcome to the KiteLife forum and to the "darkside". I'm in Illinois. How mid and how west are you? Looking forward to flying with you some day. Also check out the Revolution Kite forum and Illinois Kite Enthusiasts (IKE) forum (it's free, and you don't have to be in Illinois). If you have any questions about anything kite-related, feel free to ask on any of these sites, and probably a dozen or more people will jump in with solutions. Most importantly, have FUN and don't forget to breathe. P.S. -- If the wind is less than 6mph or so, lose that that large leading edge tubing and install the thinner one, assuming you received both with the kite. 1 Quote

Craig Best Posted June 12, 2014 Author Report Posted June 12, 2014 "Got out" last night.....checked my new lines for equal lengths, strung the lines.....somewhere between that and kite assembly the wind reversed 180 degrees. By the time I got turned around, the wind was dead. Maybe tonight! Thanks so much for the support here! Quote
Wayne Dowler Posted June 12, 2014 Report Posted June 12, 2014 Chalk it up to "line management"!! Quote
