the matchstick bamboo spars that bow. I am new to the world of kites and am

I have seen some bamboo in similar sizes at craft stores such as Michael's. You may want to check out some places like this as it is sometimes used in basket weaving.

I've butchered a "roll up" bamboo blind that I think was meant to be a blind on a deck or patio. It was great because it gave me 6 or 8' pieces that were quite uniform.

Check Amazon - they have matchstick & thin slat type blinds.
