IdahoFlyer Posted June 10, 2015 Report Posted June 10, 2015 I find myself walking further down the dark path. After repeatedly getting my EXP chased out of the sky by higher winds, I decided I needed to extend my range. So, on it's way is a Rev 1.5 Mid vent. The kite does not come with lineset or handles, and I was planning on using the set from the EXP. Now, I'm having second thoughts. Is it OK to use 90# line on a 1.5 Mid vent? Quote
John Barresi Posted June 10, 2015 Report Posted June 10, 2015 A-ok, 90# will carry you all the way up through Vented generally, as the vents relieve pressure/pull. 1 Quote
RobB Posted June 10, 2015 Report Posted June 10, 2015 IDK, I only use 90# line, and change sails. I've flown my full vent on 90# line in winds over 30mph without issues. I have 4 linesets, all 90#, just different lengths. Quote
IdahoFlyer Posted June 10, 2015 Author Report Posted June 10, 2015 I could not have wished for a better answer. Thanks! This weekend should be special. 1 Quote
Wayne Dowler Posted June 10, 2015 Report Posted June 10, 2015 Even used 90# on my X/V with no issues!! Stuff is plenty strong enough!! 1 Quote
makatakam Posted June 10, 2015 Report Posted June 10, 2015 The lines you have will even handle the smaller kites in the Speed Series. I use 90# in 80-ft and 120-ft lengths to fly my Supersonic with no issues, up to 25mph. When the winds get very light, a 50# set will make it easier to stay aloft. 2 Quote
IdahoFlyer Posted June 10, 2015 Author Report Posted June 10, 2015 I thought I would have to go to 150#, but am overwhelmingly convinced otherwise. And a 50# lineset will go on the "Would Like to Acquire" list. 2 Quote
