  2. I live in an area with fairly intermittent winds, so I have to travel some distance to have a good flying day. I need an ultralight. I've been bitten by the freestyle bug and want a pretty capable kite, but I am a poor college student for the next few years. I do however have access to many engineering labs - including one with some fancy sewing equipment used for making aerospace grade fabrics. I've seen it used for some parachutes before. This got the wheels turning... I'm usually pretty quick to pick stuff up, so I figured I could learn how to make such a kite. What is the best way to learn how to make a freestyle kite? I have found several websites with plans that seem like they might fit the bill if I was to use lighter sail material and lighter spars (le quartz, etc...). Do y'all have any suggestions? Also, where might I find a detailed (preferably video) overview of how an UL delta is put together? Where do I buy the materials? Is there something I've missed during my googling? Thanks!

  6. Wife's a nurse. Calling her Nurse Ratchet does not go over well 🤐 Look sweety it's a really good deal. Are you crazy? You don't need another blankity blank kite. Stooopidly I reply "Well don't go all Nurse Ratchet on me". Then ducking I grab my pillow, blanket, kitty cat and haul ass to the couch. It's really not that bad but I have to be very, very careful. VERY!!!

  7. @Mike Klaiber Sincere thanks for your feedback.. I'm extremely happy this kite found its way into the hands of a fellow Corolla Group Member.. It means I might get to fly it again!! It was as always a blast flying with you again..

  9. One of the common misconceptions is that a single kite satisfies all wind ranges. Many try flying the "wrong" sail in winds not suitable for it. Before buying I would suggest, if any way possible, try to meet up with others and get some of their thoughts on what might be appropriate for your area. Throw the stated wind ranges printed on company brochures out the window. Many overstate both the low end and top end of a sail's range. Will it fly in those conditions - depends on the skill of the flier. Most definitely the top end is almost always exaggerated. The question is" can I fly?" or "should I fly?". Once a sail gets stretched out, there is no returning to how it once was.
