  1. Most of the last batch has already arrived in flyers’s hands and I’m pleased to report our builders are back to 100%... As always, subject to variables and shipping time, 46 more Djinn (mixed customs and stock colors) should be on their way to us as of Dec 14, there is even a fighting chance they’ll be delivered to North American flyers in time for Christmas. Thanks for your ongoing patience, we’re nearly caught up now. ✌️

  2. A few of us DC Misfits got our hands on a custom Djinn this weekend. Per usual the wind was, well, non existent. And per usual, these guys make it look easy.

  3. @makatakam Thank you.. To be honest, this one surprised even me..I was kind of thinking you might be right in the ballpark for the wind range. Personally, I was hoping optimistically for something as low as 15MPH minimum but as you can see from the video, it really wasn't sluggish even in the 8-12mph range. Definitely a keeper.

  4. Got to fly a Ocius SUL today.Very little time on a Aura or the Ocius. Took to the Aura right off. Ocius not so much.Frame is really light and I was afraid of breaking it. Very sensitive is a good description. I think I could get a Aura SUL and get right to it. The Ocius SUL I'd need to be real careful and become a better flier before I'd be real comfortable on it. I definitely liked the speed of the kite. Could have flown it longer but a 00 frame with my skills is a little intimidating. Especially being OPK. If someone were to put them side by side and say you can have one 😁 I'd take the Ocius no doubt. Then try like hell to buy the Aura. There was a 7 sul in the air too. Wow is that a neat kite. Fella has a full set of the 7's and a Mohawk. Maybe one day he'll think I'm good enough and trust me to fly one. Wouldn't if I was him but ya never know LOL.There was another sul kite that I got to fly maybe a 1/2 hour. Came from England but don't know what it's called. Story was 6 or 7 years ago a teenage guy kinda lit the stunt kite world up for a bit.Won some competitions and built some kites. Speculation was he's at college studying engineering to hopefully be heard from again soon. The one I flew he built when he was 16 😲 Pretty high aspect and when turning at about 2/10 o'clock there is a clicking sensation. Little unsettling till I got the feel for it.It's like a little tell that helped me with timing. I didn't get to do enough on the kite but I bet that sensation is at 4/8 o'clock too.Really, really liked that kite.

  7. A new 1.5 mesh based on the Challenge PolyMax and a touch of Icarex Light Blue scrap. Hoping to make this a higher wind kite. Made my own 1" strips from the poly this time instead of using tails. I may open the mesh pattern a bit but you get the idea. Playing with some of all I've learned. You can see a touch of Mesh, A touch of Poly, and a hint of Perspective. Except for the snowflake entire sail will be the Midnight Challenge PolyMax. I'll also be edge binding in the same material. LE will be my normal White.

  8. Kick turn makes more sense to me than 1/2 axle because of the kites behavior. This is one of the 1st tricks I learned. Went through a spell where I lost it but it's back pretty consistent. My moves start with a small pop on bottom push on top and snap for rotation. Yesterday didn't fly enough to really get zoned in. Winds were really low and struggled to keep my Tekken sul aloft 1/2 the time. Another flier with a lot of experience and kites to envy showed me the one hand top wing move. Seen it in videos. In the beginning shied away from it because I couldn't move forward fast enough. So I went more the Mama74 route.Fella doesn't fly duals in very high winds. That's why he buggies and has quads I would guess LOL.His opinion is the trick is to be performed low to the ground at the window edge just as kite stalls. They're beautiful when he does it and seems just about effortless moving to the cascade.Disagree that the edge is where the trick is to be performed. If you can stall the kite the trick can be executed.1/2 axle can be done center window in 20 mph doing the the 2 handed method. I believe it's a trick I need to master any where in the window up to 25 mph but thats me.Talked to Lam only once but a couple things still resonate. He'd just came back from a trip to asia where winds were running 40. Took me a couple months to figure out that was KPH not MPH. Still some pretty high winds to trick in. The fliers were paid to perform and were expected to put on a great show. No matter the conditions if folks came to watch the show must go on.Think there are a lot of fliers can 1/2 axle center window in 25 mph. Lam is one.The epiphany for me was the one handed makes the comete smoother and easier to catch. I'll see later today but I think the Slot and Taz will still be easier using the 2 handed method.I still struggle with the comete. On a good day I won't succeed even 25% of the time. Broke more parts learning it then the going across the window doing cartwheels.Think today the Comete is finally going to start to come into focus. Got a very nice lecture by the 2 fellas yesterday on the need to fly with purpose. Think I've heard that from EVERYBODY with experience LOL. Going to really try today but this stuff is so much gosh darn fun most times I just go willy nilly laughing and grinning till my face hurts.Patience my burro.IF YA CAN'T DO IT AT LEAST FAKE IT!!! .

  9. The challenge poly isn't on there website anymore. I guess I'll try a mesh! Prism micron tails. 100% mesh? 2" strips 2" holes? Just wanted to build one and find the hiccups.

  10. Nice job. I sure like the way it looks with the white leading edge and wear strips. I’m glad it flew in mid teens. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app

  12. I bought the GoPro Hero 6 Karma package. I considered others, however the versatility for me make it much more usable than a dedicated drone. I can use just the camera, or use the camera in the Karma gimbal or attach it to the drone. The biggest downside is the drone, if crashed, can be easily damaged. The DJI drones have more protection from damage. The Karma doesn't have obstacle avoidance, where as most other drones do. The Karma isn't a small as some of the DJI drones, however it's video quality stacks up well even against the latest DJI drones. When I'm by myself, I use the drone as an aerial tripod. Just park the drone and fly the kite in front of it. At festivals I just fly around and try to get cool shots. Here's one of my favorite videos I made of just using the drone as a tripod This video I made this month at the Cape Fear Kite Festival. It starts with me using the GoPro on a gimbal and at the end it's on the drone.
