  1. Really, I’m quite eager to get this one, to close the circle. I started out years ago with the conviction: -”Naah, QLKs are for others - I’m a DLKer only”. OK, tried QLKs and “got stuck” there for soon three years now, but for a long time thought that zero wind was not for mortals. Then I got properly started with indoor/zero wind piloting about half a year ago, still sticking to QLKs. While keeping a zero/low wind focus (the available nearby parking makes this kind of a natural choice) a return to DLKs could be through the Kaiju (which will obviously arrive here in Northern Europe any time soon b.t.w. 🙂 ).

  3. With two rollup bags, you're right it might be a little tough to get clothes in there too - but at least at this point, that's not an issue for me personally. I was going for a bag with as little extra bulk as possible. As long as I'm locked down, I'll take some time to actually "pack" for a week-long trip and see how that turns out. What the heck, it's something somewhat kite-related to do. Where should I go on this imaginary trip? I'll also include a "simulated" extra rollup of kites... or you can ship me one of yours to test with 😉. Fence hooks... ah yeah... I didn't even notice them in the online description, but yesterday was like "I wonder what this zipper is for?" zzzzzipp... FENCE HOOKS!!!

  5. I think it's prudent to err on the side of caution. If the risk is avoidable . . .

  6. I think they say 72 hours. We get groceries delivered, take out food, Amazon deliveries, all still happening - getting one package from a KL member shouldn't be handled any different. I say make it a PSA moment too, and if folks don't want to leave it in the garage for 3-4 days, they don't have to play. Whatevers clever, seriously - I'll leave it up to all of you, long as it's conscientious. 😘

  7. That is also a valid point.. Perhaps set the drawing date out a month to mitigate the risks??? Personally I'll now open boxes outside and only bring the contents in. The boxes will go straight to the refuse..

  8. Hi all, I lovingly stand behind the moderator's move to hide a few posts here earlier this morning , not "right and wrong", no injury and no foul but this forum is inherently based on non-divisive topics so let's keep this non kiting stuff very topical or impersonal, plenty of other suitable venues to debate and share opinions on non-kiting stuff. 13. I see that. John? Aha, it's a two kite prize? Or one red tip and one lime tip? This is going to be fun, because annoying the heck out of John is, well, lots of fun.

  15. I think I've found a solution I like: https://amzn.to/2JVSjIN It's a baseball/softball bag, 41 inches long. Looks pretty sturdy, and just long enough to fit my rollup bag. I pack pretty light, so I think I can get a week's worth of clothes in there too. I did have to cut out an internal divider to access the full length. I don't think it'll stand up on its own, it leans a bit and when loaded, it'll probably tip over. Overall, I think I'm happy with it. Seems strong and well-made, nice tough skid plate at the bottom and enough of a spine that it won't flop over when not completely full. All I'm missing now is somewhere to take it. 😢

  16. (sorry - had it all done but got caught up multitasking) And here we go! This beautiful uncut piece of fabric is going home with... *massive drum roll* Subscriber #1484, @David Coffey! I don't think he makes kites yet, but maybe this will push him over the edge. Cheers all, thanks as always - prize drawing for May is already posted!
