Brought back due to popular demand! Yes indeed, the "win your very own JB for a Weekend" event is on again... YOURS TO WIN: All-day access for THREE FULL DAYS to pick my brain, learn and play, solo or team, dual or quad, indoor or outdoor, water flying, urban kiting, dogstake, competition skills, you name it, hang out, name anything (legal and platonic) that we can fit into three days and I'd genuinely love to participate with you. TERMS: I will quite literally be somebody's (or a group's) private instructor, kite bag boy, workshop presenter, team trainer or simple arm candy for all three days, the winner can share me around with other local fliers, your team, a club, or just keep the fun all to themselves. I will cover my own flight to meet with the winner at any major International airport in the Continental USA (using Star Alliance air miles) on a mutually agreed date (any season), but no sooner than 21 days after the drawing. Winner provides basic lodging (couch or floorspace is acceptable) and local transportation for duration of the agreed visit, as it relates to the airport (pick up / drop off), kite flying and sleeping arrangements. Entry into this drawing is $10 per ticket with no limit to the number you can buy, all ticket numbers will be issued to the buyer via email (no refunds). Drawing day will be December 1st, 2016, using RANDOM.ORG's 3RD PARTY DRAW SERVICE. Main terms apply to mainland US entrants only (takes lots more air miles to go abroad), unless an International (or Hawaii, Guam, etc) participant is willing to cover the airfare under the same terms otherwise. NOTE: If you are near the US border in Canada or Mexico, we can also arrange for the major US airport nearest to you and do a pick-up / ride-across arrangement from there as long as those local arrangements are made by the winner. IMPORTANT: There is a reserve of 100 tickets that must be sold to make this economical on my end (cost of travel and approximately 5 days away), the drawing may be extended if the reserve is not reached. By purchasing tickets, you acknowledge full understanding of all the terms above. NOTE: Tickets can NOT be ordered via TapaTalk or the KiteLife App, please visit the link below using a web browser (mobile or desktop). Enter here ---> http://kitelife.com/forum/store/product/40-jb-for-a-weekend-fall-2016/ If you have ANY problems, please feel free to send me a PM or email directly via our contact page. Thanks so much everyone - your support and help is profoundly appreciated!

FYI, PowerPro and LaserPro are both owned by Shimano - likely the same factory. -
Wanted to quickly acknowledge the tact this group is maintaining throughout what is sometimes a very polarizing subject - y'all do me proud - that's pretty much the only rule for public discussions here, never personal, rub the subjective facts together and let the subjective truths reveal themselves - peaceable disagreement is a beautiful thing. I've been really enjoying the discussions thus far, and I look forward to adding my own thoughts more freely in the new year.
-
Yep, Mirage stacks - Ed and Marshall (@Amexpmh) each had one out.
-
Deepest regards and thanks to everyone who came out for an amazing weekend - y'all really made it, always your energy that makes it shine. For me, it could be described as having the pleasure of being the most enthusiastic firefly - takes a lot of glow from a whole group to make the best light. Hope to see all of you again, sooner than later... There is some talk of adding a spring clinic (Mar-Apr), not sure what format, quite possibly a team clinic (fundamental skill requirements required to participate) - stay tuned anyway, and I'm open to hearing all suggestions!

Beautiful day, I saw improvement in everyone's flying - now to fuel up for another bangin' day tomorrow!
-
Me too, even after 26 seasons - reshapes every few years.
-
Fair question! 10am clinic (official greet and start of the Quad 101 presentation / roundtable). 9am beach arrival / wake up / warm up / relax / unfurl time is what we're discussing here... It's a beautiful location, nice morning, nice people... Mmmm... Whatever's clever, long as you're present and attentive at 10am! I understand the confusion.
-
Cool, we'll be out there around 9am too.
-
Also talking about a dinner gathering at the end of the day tomorrow, Tight Lines Pub at 7:30pm - all participants (and companions) are welcome. https://www.yelp.com/biz/tight-lines-pub-and-brewing-company-morehead-city I'll try and remember to bring it up in the morning so we can get a head count, feel free to remind me!

Yep, drive all the way south into the main parking lot and park - then walk a little ways back up the road to here (map pin below) and head straight out toward the water. https://goo.gl/maps/zWNn6NwdYKT2
-
I love nose back settings, generally have to drop the bridle points on most kites by 2" to 4" to get the feel I like.

Exactly, thin wire (piano or guitar) bent in half. And thank you!
