  1. Welcome to the forums jav_p, please send me a PM if you have any questions. :)

  2. Wow, I didn't imagine this clinic would sell out in a single day but it has!
  3. Just ONE SPOT LEFT!
  4. JUST THREE SLOTS LEFT OPEN!
  5. Four spots gone, down to 8 left already.
  6. 2 slots gone, down to 10 left.
  7. TWO SPOTS STILL AVAILABLE! Join us for two full days of quad instruction in Long Beach WA on September 12-13, 2015... We'll be covering everything from absolute basics (pure beginner) all the way up through advanced techniques and team flying, as well as providing short flight routines that are sure to help your skills along while having fun at the same time. Saturday morning is always a group presentation, full 101 on the ins and outs of Rev equipment and related theory, this covers a metric ton of stuff that even the "pros" think they know, but don't... From there, we usually go through the fundamentals of clean launching, landing and control methods... Students then break up onto their own kites to work on the "homework" (maneuver combinations) that I'll distribute beforehand, during which instructor(s) will make the rounds between each flier, offering supporting instruction, as well as addressing individual interests. Sunday is the same without a 101 presentation, followed by a couple hours of team skills introduction to close out the day. Students will use their own kites, any line length will work (80'-90' is very common) but 120' length will be required for team exercises. Must be spectra or Skybond lines for team flying. Testimonials - http://tinyurl.com/jb-testimonials Registration is $150 per person and includes full access to the clinic on both days (10a-4p)... Please note, there are only 12 17 spots available and we expect them to fill up very quickly. Currently registered to attend: 1. Terry R. 2. Sandy L. 3. Steve K. 4. George M. 5. Dick M. 6. Steve L. 7. Lynette L. 8. John G. 9. Karen G. 10. Michael B. 11. Lance E. 12. Meshelle S. 13. Rick I. 14. Eric M. 15. Russell W. 16. 17. 14. I've evolved my break down of the Rev axel since that tutorial was made (2007?), and have even learned / adapted a couple new versions including the dive axel and one that comes out of an "upside down snap stall" kind of movement... I'll have to do a new one at some point. Most of it comes down to the set up, a good laid out float/slide, single strike (and return) on the trailing brake line, lots of slack following, built into a large and slack bicycle movement with the arms.
  15. My subliminal training is working! Muhahahahaha...

  17. Load-turn-unload-rotate-reload, "just like that". Happy to help anytime, just let me know!
  18. Sadly, it just seems like there aren't a ton of dual line folks looking for instruction... I really, really enjoyed working with everyone last time but I wish we'd had more than four people sign up. Six is really the magic number where it starts to make sense for me.
  19. Yay Jason, congrats bro!
  20. I can only fly the Rev with eyes closed while it has forward motion and line tension, same sense that a dual line provides. http://kitelife.com/forum/files/file/820-rev-tutorial-traveling-bicycle/ http://kitelife.com/forum/files/file/334-rev-tutorial-axel/
  21. ^^ Amen. ^^
  22. FYI, still just one spot left open out of the 12... Who's gonna grab it?
  23. If I understand "going flat" correctly, this sounds like a symptom of not having your top lines let out enough - if the top is too short, it would pull the leading edge forward (toward the pilot) and out of the air. Also, pulling "a [single] handle" would pull the kite off wind, causing a similar issue in a different direction. Also, use the lower BLUE part of the flame, not the upper yellow or orange.
  24. Gets messy and honestly, two days is the right amount time for a one discipline on its own. We did a "casual clinic" in Chicago, this is an in-depth program with more structure and fun homework.
