  1. We were on B-Pros with Race Frame all weekend, on 90' x 90# lines.
  2. is busier than a one-armed kite flier in a kite flying contest!

  3. I've even had good runs and a few tricks on the Cherry Bomb, runs around $50. Not likely to find a flipping, tricking kite until at least $75.
  4. Versatile too, does dual or quad.
  5. Far as I know, there are still several folks who head out there with some regularity. Typically my wife and I do as well, but we've been too busy with work and travel.
  6. Very fun, thanks for posting this!
  7. My pleasure T, happy I could help.
  8. Either preference, style or an unrefined understanding... Truly, any of the three. Bottom line, you ever try and sign your name holding the very tippy top of the pen? Leverage is important, correct tuning gives the right balance for 3-finger balance. FYI, we have this 3-finger technique in the tutorials as well. http://kitelife...body-posture-and-grip-hd-1280x720/
  9. A busy competition day for an individual would be 3 or 4 flights at about 2-8 minutes each. For discussion's sake, a Vegas show is an hour or two long, eh? One person (anyone) might have trouble filling that kind of time for $30-$75 show tickets, but with the help of a few friends... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wY-aSasx8-Q http://kitelife...canvas-640x360-1-hour-show/ Lots of capable indoor fliers out there, lots of styles and kite types, would be hard to put together a show, especially with a little budget behind you. Regardless, even if Connor didn't become the absolute winner, he certainly deserves to see the final AGT round... Beautiful to watch, an authentic and charming young man, inspiring as well.
  10. No worries, this is a good section for this kind of thing. == The B-Series leader comes 7" long (finished/tied length), most fliers who have had a chance to properly understand it are using 8"-9" leaders. Knots are every 1/2" or so, probably 8 or so of them starting from the end. Bottom attachments are short, maybe 2"-3" long, just enough to attach really. == Settings... Best way I think, is to let the top adjustments all the way out until you can't launch... Once there, pull it in one knot at a time until you can launch... That'd be about right. As you become more skilled, you'll find that launch knot will start to be further out, as you deepen your understanding of the kite. == Extended handles make your inputs stronger on the kite... Some folks do like them, but I find that I simply don't need that much torque on the kite. On the whole, having the right settings and practicing the essential techniques will take care of pretty much everything, imho. == Lots of good info here too... http://www.learnkites.com Some of the tutorials are available only to Kitelife subscribers, but you'll find the price is VERY reasonable compared to the material that is available (HD or iPod/iPhone formats). Sail Loading, Light Wind Flying and Tuning Theory I are all included in that batch of tutorials, many are picture-in-picture (kite/pilot), and each one is highly relevant to the questions you're asking. == Last but certainly not least, I think you'll be surprised at the amount of info available here... http://www.revkites.com/forum Cheers, glad to have you here.
  11. Great site Bob, I always look forward to your updates... Keep up the good work sir.
  12. I was using standard handles, yes... The long handles aren't necessary, and can cause over-control. Have you looked at the "Sail Loading" tutorial? Between that and the Light Wind tutorial, that covers pretty much everything, except what you get from experience and application. The last trick is learning about the momentum and inertia of the kite, avoiding stalls, keeping it all moving, whether it's slow or fast.
  13. Connor got cut in the second round, but if y'all would like to see him brought back as a wild card, post your comments here! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Americas-Got-Talent/110741848946837?v=stream&ref=ts#%21/topic.php?uid=10646929759&topic=13938
  14. Here is the footage with Connor in the next round, in Las Vegas! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tjjmmm10JoY
  15. I heard something about using small weights for better gliding, but I'm sorry to say I don't have specifics.
  16. Another good video, this one with some of Connor's second performance in Las Vegas. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tjjmmm10JoY I never thought a teenager would make me cry so muh until I have one of my own, ah well, it's all good.
