  1. Not sure on wind range, I'd guess 3-12 mph, maybe... You all know how adept I am on single line kites though. Gibian's info page - http://gibiankites.com/products/PocketRocket.htm
  2. This really is a great kite, and a rare chance to take home the handmade work of a true masterpiece artist. Again, this is not a reproduction.
  3. TK and I are on the MAX now, headed to the field... Chilly, light wind (2-4mph) but the air feels thick and flyable. Grab a warm drink, a thermos, and come on down!
  4. Proud papa, he's doing good, coming along. But... Who is that other joker? (jajajajaja) Nice as always my friend, keep the videos coming.
  5. WOW, that looks awesome... Sweet looking kites, seen 'em before.
  6. Today the whole Data Center (DC) we use was down for several hours. They lost a core and they needed time to replace it and bring all the hardware back online. That is why the Kitelife hosted websites were not accessible, along with all our own sites. All is well, our server staff is among the best at what they do. Thanks for your patience!
  7. Yeah, eh? One of these days, come on over.
  8. Just a heads up, TK and I will be out flying at this field today. Anyone care to join us?
  9. So I've been lead to believe. Whats that..maybe a glimmer of hope... http://www.electricf...yemainpage.html ..could never mistake those sail designs for anyone elses Chris Did you see the web site's copyright at the bottom?
  10. Nope... We started on that roughly a year ago. My new project is still at least 7-8 months from seeing the light of day, or reaching public ears. It's not Rev-related, and I won't answer *any* questions about it. == Spz0, looks like we'll be at PIR this weekend, weather allowing... Call my usual number if you want to confirm that we're there.
  11. BC won't work, owner has to accompany (as in MOVE there). No worries, we've got another solution in process.
  12. TK and I will be out more regularly over the winter, after the wedding... She wants to train up, fast... Come on out and play with us.
  13. Spot on with the links guys, thanks! And of course, there's always Facebook... JB - http://www.facebook.com/barresij (454 photos) TK - http://www.facebook.com/takako.kishi (53 photos) FYI, wedding is now set for November 14th, everything is pretty much ready.
  14. Ohhhhh, let me know when/if/where for street kiting in PDX... TK and I will be there in a jiffy if we're free.
  15. Awesome JoneZ, rock it. Fall/Winter will be time for me to work on video tutorials, web site projects and training TK to rock the kite scene. Also got a new, top secret project rolling that is gonna blow the doors off this joint... Can't say anything now, just want to tease ya. <grin>
  16. Shipped out today (Priority Mail), along with the bonus kite.
  17. Should be shipping these out today if all goes well. TK and I have just about got our home organized, just set up the office, still running mad with other pre-wedding (and turtle) duties though.
  18. OMG Choccy... ROFL!!!! It's funny, 'cuz it's true. You and TK going to give a Wiggle Clinic sometime? <grin>
  19. Sweet prize, eh? <grin>
  20. Rev Clinic @ 2009 Cape Fear Kite Festival Friday, November 6, 2009 - Cape Fear, NC USA This will be a one day clinic at the same location as and prior to the Cape Fear Kite Festival, addressing individual, pairs and team Rev (quad) techniques for NOVICE through MASTER level pilots, led by 10-time national multiline champion John Barresi, captain of the professional sport kite performance team iQuad... While the obvious focus is on Revolutions for their superior flight characteristics and durability, Instruction will happily be provided to anyone with a kite that has the essential quad line flight characteristics such as hovering, reverse, forward and sideways flight. The very nature of Rev flying, both individually and as a team is fun, relaxed and very forgiving, so if you're even the least bit curious, this is a premier opportunity to learn from one of the most experienced and prolific Rev pilots in the world. =========================================================== Registration Fee Individual - $60 ! Fee includes access to all clinic sections (see details below) ! Maximum registrants limited to 12 (total) To register, please contact: Blowing in the Wind The Cotton Exchange 312 Nutt Street Wilmington, NC 28401 USA Phone 910-763-1730 Fax 910-763-2888 Email sales@blowinginthewind.com TOLL FREE 1-888-691-8034 =========================================================== What should I bring? Clothing & Food: We recommend each participant come prepared with warm clothing (layers are best), including basic rain gear... Even in the event of inclement weather, those who are comfortable should be prepared to enjoy flying, fun and hijinks, unless the conditions turn absolutely sour, in which case we will attempt to move the clinic indoors for a more casual non-flying, hands on, interactive workshop using some "simulator" techniques. Also, be sure to pack a lunch, water and sun block! The natural flow of our workshops allow for people to relax and have downtime as people cycle through the learning process... You will find plenty of time to breathe, eat and enjoy your day on the field with other kite fliers. Equipment: For the individual skills, any Revolution or similarly capable quad line kite is acceptable, using pretty much any quality or length of lines, although spectra lines are recommended. For team skills, a Revolution 1.5 of any model (EXP, SLE, B-Series, etc) is required, along with a 120' set of 90lb spectra quad lines, which is generally the accepted international standard for Rev team flying. While there will be a limited amount of training equipment available during the workshop, it would be beneficial to come equipped with 2, 3 and 4 wrap frames, as well as both standard and vented sails to take full advantage of any wind conditions that might arise… Even so, if you don't have a Rev yet and still want to learn, come on out, we'll do what it takes to get you in the sky for some learning and good times! =========================================================== 10:00am-4:00pm Individual skills (beginner/intermediate/advanced): · Tuning/Equipment (including set up) · Stable Hover (various orientations) · Inverted hover · Clockwork · Basic control · Stable Hover · Bicycle Rotations · 180 Turns · Light wind · Slides Team skills (beginner/intermediate/advanced): · Team familiarity (comfort training) · Docking/Refueling/Kisses · Basic maneuvers (ball, burst, thread, radar, etc) · Advanced maneuvers (twin radar, blender, twister, etc) · Break down (putting away kites and lines) 4:00pm - ?? Free flying =========================================================== NOTE: Workshop schedules are subject to change based on weather, wind conditions and most importantly, on the needs and interests of the attending participants... If weather is unbearable, the clinic will attempt to find an indoor venue where we can meet, discuss techniques and run hands-on "simulator" training. Hope to see some of you there!
  21. I'm busy as heck, but good.

You can sign up here. Odds of winning for this prize is currently 1/247, and will be drawn on December 1st, 2009! Our thanks, and the very best to you... Let the drooling begin!
  23. Phew, a chance to breathe, finally! Been busier than a one-legged kite flier in a kite flying contest since TK arrived, properly catching up on email and forum duties now. Oh yeah, I suppose y'all might like to know who's taking these two beautiful kites home, huh? It could be... It might be.... It is!!!! Subscriber #364, a heartfelt congratulations to Calvin Leibelt, aka "oh oh"! Calvin, please send me a PM to let me know if you'd like black or white kites, and where to ship these for you. On top of the two Pryos, I did promise a small bonus for my tardiness... One Rainbow Solaris from New Tech, designed by Robert Brasington of Tazmania! Congrats again, and thanks to all for your support.
  24. Who's that handsome fella teasing the kids with his Rev?
  25. Gonna be just one more day folks, we've got some issues with Takako's turtle who was shipped here to Portland... He's not allowed into Oregon (species), and we're making arrangements for him to go back to Tokyo today, with hopes to re-ship him later to another US state that will allow Red Eared Slider turtles. Thanks for your patience, I'll throw in a little bonus with the prize if I can.
