  1. Thanks all for your heartfelt show of support, now and while we were going through the application process. To say TK and I consider (you) the kiting community to be our family would be a beautiful understatement.
  2. You'll be pleased to know, the designers of this forum software are working on new skins to better match the style and layout we had before. Hoping for it to be ready sometime in the next 2-3 weeks, I'll put it up for testing here soon as I can.
  3. You'll be pleased to know, the designers of this forum software are working on new skins to better match the style and layout we had before. Just one day to go for the prize drawing... <GRIN>
  4. As many of you know, I'm engaged to a lovely flier from Tokyo... She applied for her fiancé (K-1) visa earlier this year, and just completed her final interview today. APPROVED. She'll be arriving Portland for good on October 13th, right after I'm back from AKA... Wedding will be sometime in November or December.
  5. Have at it, good by me Duane.
  6. Revs have a much wider wind range and are more versatile (indoor, outdoor, team, etc). I'd look at the AirBow like you'd look at a Lotus, exotic.
  7. There's lots of good Rev info here - www.revkites.com You may find the answers you're looking for.
  8. Alright, it's come to light through discussions on the Rev forum that quite a few of the users here don't care for the new format, despite what the poll at the beginning of this discussion implies (tsk tsk)... What I'd like from those who are willing, is a few of the things about this new format that give you problems. Or, if you're comfortable with the new format, please tell us what we can do to improve it. Cheers, thanks, looking forward to constructive comments.
  9. I think it's under B-Series mid vent.
  10. Okay, I couldn't help myself... Added one more video to the original post in this thread.
  11. Subscription functions have been restored! http://kitelife.com/forum/index.php?app=subscriptions
  12. Who all is going to this one? http://kitelife.com/forum/index.php?/calendar/1/event-88 Related discussion on the Rev forum as well, with a small poll... http://www.revkites.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=3200 I'll be attending, got a big chunk of metal to deliver to Rochester.
  13. Aye, no problems here either. I am on a Mac though, darned near impervious.
  14. Congrats Duane, welcome to the dark side.
  15. If I can locate the original, I'd be happy to see what I can do.
  16. Semi-related discussion, just cross-linking. http://www.revkites.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1528
  17. Superb, very similar to the techniques I use to train for Revs. + post mate!
  18. Aye, all should be well now, please let me know if anyone finds lingering issues.
  19. Big step to the kite, as you hit it, then keep moving forward... Will cure the taut line.
  20. The starting "lean" or angle of the kite on it's back is far more important on the first pull than the amount of energy you expend. CAN do it fast, but being a little more casual, experimenting with the angle, slack and timing may give you more understanding of the dynamic. The kite MUST be loose when you hit it, walking forward during the whole thing.
  21. Ah, also... I think you might be trying too hard. A good backspin input is almost casual, on a rhythm.
  22. Deal, I'm in, but only September forward as my August is booked solid.
  23. You're welcome anytime Jon.
  24. Thanks Bob, I received your address via PM... Will ship soon as I can, leaving for Bogota (Colombia) early tomorrow morning, so it'll be a week or so, but the kite is yours. Thanks again, see you at WSIKF, be sure to come say hello!
