  1. I think registration forms for WSIKF sport kite competition will be here soon, since it's actually a NWSKL function... http://www.nwskl.org Figures for WSIKF - http://nwskl.org/figs2008.htm
  2. Sweet, nice kit of kites on your list... Some of my personal favorites. <grin> Labor Day, we'll literally be on our way back from England on 9/1, six man iQuad (including JD), sorry!
  3. I wouldn't say that the either standard, mid-vent or vented is easier to control than the other. The venting lends a smoothness to the controls, but they're the same inputs basically. The mid-vent IS for the middle to upper range, that was just the wind I had on the day I got to test it... That video was my first flight ever on a mid-vent. You've got to make one of our clinics, will really clarify a lot of things, with minimal effort.
  4. Great news Steve, we're really looking forward to this trip. Jim, again, sorry you and Lynn won't make it... But, looking forward (hopefully) to seeing you both in Berkeley.
  5. Brilliant, thank you for sharing that Litsong.
  6. I find anything but Rev rods to be too flexible, the Race spars have been very good for 0-6 mph.
  7. Per info on the avatar settings screen... Your avatar must be no bigger than 135 pixels by 135 pixels in size. Uploaded avatars from your computer must be no larger than 600 KB. The following file types are allowed: gif, jpeg, jpg, swf, png Mind you, avatar specs are smaller on the Rev forum (maybe 80x80). My simple recommendation, edit the image so it's the right dimension, and ensure it's under 600 KB in size (which might be the issue). Let me know how it goes.
  8. Thank you sir, a little nod like that goes a long way, believe it or not. Good winds.
  9. It's all good kahuna, odd moods are ours to be had. Another factor at work here too, the site troubles we'd been having for the past year, as well as almost three weeks off line in late May, early June... We just got the new site up and running on June 8th, so people are still discovering the new format, etc.
  10. No crew Brett, but a lot of good friends and teammates. Not sure what to tell you linekahuna, it's a forum thing... Sometimes it's hot, sometimes it's not. No a-holes or flame wars though, I'm happy with that any day.
  11. Sorry to hear it, maybe next year... iQuad will be missing WSIKF, headed to England instead. Sorry to hijack this thread, now back to your scheduled programming.
  12. Carl, see you in Brookings? I always look forward to your performances.
  13. Great assortment.
  14. I think the question is, on what subject?
  15. Adrian is our only NW flier who isn't going to England, but the Island Quad boys should be there in full force, and Adrian has been calling for them quite a bit.
  16. Nice.
  17. iQuad is on for Summer Heat, for sure, even with the new dates. However, we will NOT be at WSIKF... In England instead.
  18. I'll hope you're at Berkeley, or something really good has happened.
  19. Hrm, imagine my embarrassment... This has caught us as much by surprise, putting the last day of Summer Heat a mere 3 days before we leave for 11 days in England. I do not know how this happened, except that I must have overlooked it with everything else we have going on. Terribly sorry. Will reconfirm our participation, as soon as I touch base with my teammates.
  20. Best place to verify NW sport kite event dates is here - http://www.nwskl.org
  21. What are your 3 most used kites? Rev 1.5 B-Series - Standard - Mid Vent - Vented What size are they? 7-1/2', give or take What do you use them for? Individual and team flying, as well as crowd interaction. What length lines do you prefer? 120', great for team, and working large venues. What strength lines do you prefer? 90# or 50#, depending on the wind.
  22. Another one, now available... http://www.kitelife.com/magazine/issue43/content.php Thanks Patrick.
  23. If it's a matter of permissions, I understand... But, you should be able to attach a PDF file to your post if you wish.
