  1. Well said Tom, hear hear.
  2. I think I would simply choose some music that is less driving. That tune doesn't set the mind for absorption, and isn't necessarily pleasant to all demographics. Has to be palatable to everyone. My 2 cents.
  3. Watty, another great tutorial... Three suggestions: 1. Re-release the video, without musical accompaniment... It's very distracting (in my opinion), you're a great teacher and I don't think you need the background. 2. It's not royalty free music which will eventually be an issue, especially if we include them in the Kitelife archives. If you prefer to use music in the videos, here is a good royalty free music source, just include "Music: Kevin MacLeod" in the video. 3. Use a clearer, simpler font for text overlay... I can't easily make out what I assume is "8' lines". Again, great job, just some input from my own experiences.
  4. Yes, all that. <grin> FYI, if I'm able to get a couple of Mr Leh's gliders... One all white, one all black.
  5. Gorgeous work Carolyn, as always.
  6. Thanks Craig. Regarding repair hints, I'd post a specific topic, with a scenario/damage to address.
  7. Alas, once TK moves here we've got a 1-2 period before US Gov grants "adjustment of status", allowing her to travel outside the US and return... Unless we're granted a special probation, so remains to be seen. Thank you, so much.
  8. All understandable Litsong, thank you. Question, when broken down, do you know if the glider is shorter or same length as a broken down Rev 1.5? (an absolute must for my needs)
  9. Aye, I've always found non-Rev rods too flexible. The weight/stiffness ratio is a factor. All personal though, depends on what you like.
  10. Takako just shared this video link with me... Really beautifully flying kite, I'm wondering about it's type and construction? From the look of it, I'd really like to get my hands on one or two of these, assuming they can be broken down and rolled up. Litsong or Wen, I imagine you'll know, since it was filmed at iSpace in Taiwan.
  11. Jim, you are #458... But I'm trimming out the fancy signatures as I find time. Simply, there's no way to automate the addition/removal of those as people sign up or expire. However, please feel free to include your sub number in your signature, no worries.
  12. Welcome to our new subscribers, thanks.
  13. FYI roisin, not haranguing, just letting you know... Kitelife Subscribers can send photos by PM, but not regular forum members. Also, PM storage goes to 500 instead of the usual 50. All that equates to disk more space and bandwidth on the servers, hence the methodology. Not required or even expected, you're welcome as you are!
  14. Subscriber number is available upon request, anytime. Tom, you would be #477. Remember, although we've written 517 subscriptions since 2003, we've also had the natural attrition, which brings us down to 263 total active subscribers, as of this post. PS: A lot of our members like to put it in their forum signature as "KLS #000", or what have you. And of course, we don't mind "proud subscriber of Kitelife" links in your signature on Rev forum, etc.
  15. Aye, it is a little ways off... But we try and do these things every 4-6 weeks. With the prize value being what it is, this being a slower time of the year, and all kinds of goodies going up for grabs over on the Rev forum, I thought it only fair to put this out to the full six weeks (approx)... But, you can look forward to a couple more of these coming up in the 2009 prize drawings. Now, go fly! <grin>
  16. We're pleased to yet again announce the next prize being given away to our most appreciated supporters, the Kitelife Subscribers... For roughly 10 cents per day they play a major role in keeping KL growing in every way. Click here for subscription info! Okay, this one is going to come across as being a little shameless, but this is the prize we've got for you! == B-Series Revolution 1.5 - Vented(MSRP $340 - prize includes line set) Based on the original Rev 1.5 design, the John Barresi Signature Series is the ideal choice for any hard core precision or competition flier... The B-Series handles are 13" long, and come with a pre-tied adjustment knot system which enables you to increase or decrease the reverse control. 17. Alright, got a winner... Subscriber 348 - Tom Coffey He's going home with a brand new 16' Delta from Gomberg Kites! Congratulations Tom, and thanks to all our subscribers. Next prize (an uber cool one), to be announced very shortly. <grin>
  18. Well shoot, I swear I had set December 10th! LOL Okay, give me a few minutes.
  19. Here's a quick link to that review... http://kitelife.com/magazine/issue46/acrobatx46/content.php The review was done by Robert Randolph, who knows a fair bit more about bridles than I do. Per that review - "The bridle is a static 3-point with adjustable angle of attack with pigtails at the upper outhaul. The bridle line is strong and has not shown any signs of wear after many hours of flying."
  20. I'll whip something up, please be patient. iQuad is relaxing their schedule next year, it really ate up a lot of the attention I normally give to Kitelife. Looking forward to ramping up my efforts. <grin>
  21. Another drawing started, here... http://www.revkites.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1925

  23. Hi Simon, I'm not really well versed in the 3D, but I do have a little bit of time on one... It is definitely designed for lighter winds (and indoor use), see Prism's page on the kite below. http://prismkites.com/k_3d.html Being a smaller kite, inputs will also be a bit smaller, and it tends to be a smooth flier, as opposed to more aggressive kites... Fades and similar tricks should be fairly easy, but it isn't likely to work well for advanced tricks like Jacobs Ladders, Yo Yos, etc. There's a start, I'm sure someone else on the forum has one and will comment soon.
  24. Hehehe, that's the way we roll.
