  7. Hey folks, getting into the Xmas spirit here... Giving away two free one year subscriptions to anyone who isn't already signed up. All you have to do is chime in here with a post, tell us what your favorite kites are, and what part of the world you hail from! Looking forward to hearing from you. == Chimed in (for the drawing): - Grandpa - genesant - skb - linekahuna - temoniprince - bobw - Aerochic - andelscott - madquad - boomzilla - DB Cooper - ArthurDent - Chook - thief - himis
  8. Have fun with the new kites, please report your experiences with them, when they arrive?
  9. I have an iTrix, can actually do multi-lazies and comete indoors. <grin> Neat kite, have to really pull it around though... A little heavy, in order to perform the way it does, inertia and all. Not much time on a Sweety, sorry.
  10. Awesome news Jim, I didn't know it was done already! I'd say this news warrants it's own topic both here and on the Rev forum, feel free to do so, and make sure to include the URL to Kurtis' web site in both? Thanks for the update.
  11. Hi folks, just installed a prototype search engine on the Kitelife web site to allow searching of all online Kitelife Magazine issues... Care you try it out? http://www.kitelife.com/search.php Look for your favorite kite terms, let us know it works for you!
  12. Alright folks, we're back online... However, the server was restored from backups, which means some of the posts on Dec 14th didn't make it. Terribly sorry, I expected the latest databases to be used, but my server staff goes off of the back ups.
  13. Rock on brother! Man, he's getting big, quick.
  14. Thief, you know we've got a blog system on this forum, capable of producing an RSS feed?
  15. Quite possibly. If you decide to this, I'd look at pictures of other vented kites to get an idea if hole locations and types... Then start with a few, and add more as you feel is necessary. Good luck!
  16. More signatures updated, with subscriber numbers.
  17. zech, what kind of kite are you considering doing this with? It's possible to do this with nearly any kite, but one should be very cautious, as there's no taking holes out once they're in.
  18. Beautiful!
  19. LOL - My pleasure Brett, thanks for being here.
  20. FYI, I was able to push the upgrade off until December 14th (2nd Sunday from now). Better for the other sites hosted on our servers.
  21. Hi folks, just an FYI... We'll be performing a necessary server upgrade (increase in capacity) in a little over a week from now, which will have both Revolution and Kitelife web sites offline for anywhere from 6-24 hours... In an attempt to create the least disruption, we'll do our best to implement this upgrade near midnight, between Dec 14-15 (Sun/Mon), being back online that Monday morning if all goes well. Thanks for your patience.
  22. Nope, those are simply multiple pancakes (by name)... In and out, in and out, etc. Flic flac is with tips down (starting), and a quick flick to send the tips upwards (face up or all the way over to face away), then an identical flick (flac) to get it facing you again... Again, being a fast move, it requires sail pressure and weight in the kite. I've never been able to do one on the Indoor Rev (too much belly as well = wind resistance). Fly away, yeah, me too.
  23. I've never seen a flic flac indoors... It's too hard to get the Rev off it's back, and facing you again. Only done outdoors, from what I've seen. Can you describe the flic flac, in your own words? Like an extreme ground gainer outdoors, where the kite glides LE away from you, facing down, allowing you to walk forward quite a bit... I always call it a "fly away" or ground gainer. Is that what you're referring to?
  24. Must comment, flic flac is definitely not the same as a pancake... Pancake with dual or quad, is flying straight down, then letting the nose/LE sail out so the belly faces down with LE away, tail to you. Flic flac on a dual starts with a pancake, but flips back and forth from belly up to to belly down repeatedly (pancake/fade/etc/etc). Flic flac on a quad is pretty much the same, but with the nose up, flipping belly UP (LE away/tips to you), back to normal, etc, etc. Hope that sorts out any confusion for readers down the road.
