I know @Paul LaMasters' tuning. You can't accidentally launch. He uses enough brake that it's difficult enough for us mere mortals to launch on purpose.

To all, I welcome other submissions of similar image to this thread. Please share your efforts here..

I took the time today to create a short tutorial on how to make these images specifically while creating this image today.. The tutorial can be found here..

@Cot51stState Sent you a youtube link in chat. Please let me know when you've seen what you need so I can take down the video..

Then we'll set it up so I can share a screen with you and show you how to do it.. It's not difficult. Just a matter of taking out everything you don't want from the top layers. We'll do a simple 3 frame version. Once you have that, the rest is pretty simple. I use paint Shop Pro. (It's what I have) And VLC for the playback/capture.

@Cot51stStateIf you have Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro (anything with layers capability), I'll gladly show you how to make them..

As long as the camera is fixed and not panning around, sure.. That's the big requirement to make these. The camera has to be still..

@LeMac I highly recommend the Symphony Pro. The Bridling is much much sturdier. Bridles on the Beach models are simply tied Dyneema. The Peter Lynn Hornet is a traction kite and not really a stunter. The Symphony kites are Sport size. The Hornet Kite is SQUARE METERS.. There is a huge difference in size despite the incremental number difference. Here is an Older Symphony Pro 2.2 laying on top of a 2M Crossfire for size reference. Here is that same 2M Crossfire on top of a 4M Crossfire. As you can see the sizing difference is not only noticeable but considerable, especially in the amount of force these kites can generate. If you are going to get into the traction side of things (Buggying/Landboarding) then a 3M is going to end up in your bag since it is the baseline standard for traction kiting. Just be ready for the huge pull these kites can generate quickly. FWIW, the 2.2.4 is a good intro into traction and will pull a buggy. My first buggy ride was with one.

The first link was my Gallery. If you look through the Kite Making section of the forum, pretty much every build has been documented here in some way.

Thank you very much for the compliment. @westers In response to your question I started a new topic.

@westersIn response to your question I started another topic to cover my evolution as a kite maker. I started out with the intent of making my own and wanting a Shook Mesh I couldn't afford. Since I wasn't comfortable hemming and folding strips at the time I started out with Gomberg Skywriter tails. My first efforts are all in my HomeMade gallery. Older kites are on Page 3 (as of this post) In Fall 2017 I made my first kite that wasn't made from tails. I got some closeout material from one of the regular vendors and made my First indigo sunrise. I made to decision to learn the craft fully and in very Early 2018 and spent some time with Eliot Shook down at Flying Smiles Kites and he showed me the basics for the Leading Edge. I also started playing with Orange and Blue Nylon that was part of the same sale. The Perspective Stack, Midnight Royal Taboo, and The Jester followed very quickly. The Jester spawned the technique I refined to make the original Diamonds kite in Feb 2018. I then got up the nerve to order some Icarex and asked for all the scraps they were willing to let me have. I've been playing with color, designs, materials and refinements ever since. That pretty much sums up my personal evolution as a kite maker.

Modifying Older Hadzicki designs to use T Connectors
riffclown replied to riffclown's topic in Adjustments and Modifications
Sounds like a viable solution to me! -
Looks like an APA edge Connector. Most dealers that deal in parts should have them. FYSA, You will need to know spar sizes to order the proper size..

Modifying Older Hadzicki designs to use T Connectors
riffclown replied to riffclown's topic in Adjustments and Modifications
Not having used that particular part, If weight is the major issue for you, I'd agree with at least the cross part of the "T". Shortening the upright portion IMO might be a balance of how much you can remove before you have the Spars start popping out under flailing torque. Personally I'd probably leave that portion alone. Just my opinion and that's based on a part I have not used. -->yet.
