  1. Thanks for turning this convo to the positive. I'd like to know who people prefer to buy their kitestuffs from as well...
  2. This is Soooooo Very True!!! However I must say that BK did not answer emails or return phonecalls. One is lucky to actually get them on the phone. I always like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but based on other's experiences from this forum combined with my own, does not reflect well at all on them. ps. Even though they are expensive, I love Into The Wind as well. Their catalogs totally hooked me into kite flying. :?
  3. Interlaken has that really cool train going up into the mountains. Is that what you're travelling on??? Neato!
  4. KitesKitesKites has ~Bat~ kites!!! OMG! Those are one of the first I flew, except the look more like the "Spy Kites" on that website. Hee!
  5. I had bought a balinese dragon kite awhile back that is very spiffy. You still see them pn Ebay from time to time. Problem is that it's more of an art piece than being fly worthy. I've flown it, but the winds take a real toll on on the edges which are not finished off (read: sewn). Plus it takes ~alot~ of wind to get in the air...
  6. Whether someone spends $600. or $20., there is no excuse for poor communication.
  7. Ugh!!! I was hoping BK was having an off couple of weeks when I was given the runaround for my order, but this seems to be standard operation for them. Boy is he racking up the bad press! Grrr!
  8. That is a good way to start out! A good tip is to always wind up your lines yourself and always use the same technique. Kindly turn down offers from others to wind up your lines for you, even if you loaned them your lines. Well, I'm trying to start out by the books. If I can do something better as I learn along the way I will. I'm brand new to this. I'm trying to keep things as simple as possible. I can see where winding your own lines is vital! OMG.
  9. It does look like fun! The tail adds alot to it as well.
  10. Perfect music choices for this vid! Hehehe! Liked having the split screen to watch. Nice Job!
  11. I had more luck with the full version .mpg than the lower res .mp3. Killer cool stuff! That was the perfect place to do such a shoot! I was hoping to see what the view was like when you guys are in formation. YAY!!!
  12. I knowwwww! I tried to warn people! :? The first minute is enough to watch.
  13. I couldn't get the video to work on my comp. *pouts* Is there Google Vid or Youtubage of this anywhere??? Now I'm really curious!
  14. Happy Birthday!

  15. ...we need someone to do something like this! (see link below). Wonders what team iQuad could do with this! ;D (Warning: Video not for those prone to sea-sickness)
  16. I think that's kinda key there, if you find a system that works for you don't mess with it. Unless you want to try a new idea ofcourse. I've been winding both sets on one winder, and so far so good. *crosses fingers*
  17. *Laughs* I tip my virtual hat to you then, Penny!!! (and add thanks to Mike too) ;D
  18. Heya Mike, I have to tell you, while flying my new Rev for the first time this weekend, your mantra of "It's not as bad as it looks" rang through my mind alot!!! And yes, you were right, my tangles weren't as bad as they looked. I'm glad that I've been reading up the commentary on this Forum as it's been helping quite alot.
  19. They're so medieval looking. I love them! I hope someone is selling them.
  20. Heya Folks, I was just wondering if anyone who attended this year's Wildwood Festival knew who made these über cool banner flags? Photo is courtesy of the Kiteloft's website... http://www.kiteloft.com/photo_gallery_show,48,328,.htm
  21. Oh Temptation... I'm going to take you up on that offer one of these days! You're giving me ~yet another~ reason to go to the shore!
  22. That would be fun now that my Rev has finally arrived! Yay! In time I need to get myself some longer lines tho.
  23. Sounds like a ~FUN~ job, Ant! I enjoyed your pics as well. Your kiddo is adorable. I flew my first kites on Wildwood's beaches as a kid. I probably was in your shop at some point. When I was down for the Festival this past May I went and visited my old stomping grounds before heading to the fest. It was such a time warp. My memories of Wildwood are very fond.
  24. Wow that's NICE! Looks like a stained glass window. I'm impressed that you made your own fittings as well. Trés Cool!
  25. I know!!! Wildwood has more than enough room for everyone. You would think people would give you some space! Sigh.
