Whenever I see a kite stuck in a tree or wrapped around a pole, I feel so sad for the owners who are missing out on their fun. Doubly so if it's a kid's kite! I saw this poor thing flapping around on a webcam today. I'm kinda surprised the lifeguards didn't get this down as it is one of their posts. :/

What are your 3 most used kites? Revolution 1.5 Standard Revolution 1.5 Custom Vent HQ Downtown Delta What size are they? 7.5ft, 7.5ft, 6.5ft What do you use them for? Sport Flying, Masochism, and schmoozy beach flying. What length lines do you prefer? 90ft for the Revs (because I don't own 120s yet), variable for the delta. What strength lines do you prefer? 90#, 150#

Oooooh Wow, thanks for all the great advice Slinger! This is exactly the kind of info I was after! Ohhhh yes, I've seen some wonderful things on Ebay as well! Now I have too many ideas in my head! :? I've been using a forged steel spike that a friend made for me (as a kite stake) for about 15 years now until it met my Rev. The Rev has bent it now TWICE!!! Doh!

Ahhhh Thanks! This is on the right track. I have an idea for making the stake heads, I just needed to know what to use for the stake itself.

I'm with ya there. I listen to music while flying about 50% of the time, but almost never at the shore for the very same reasons. I'll listen to my mp3 player if I'm inland.

Wildwood's Festival was utterly AMAZING this year, capped off with a North American record Revolution Mega Fly set at 33 people!!! Woo Hoo! (See the Rev Forum for a complete list of participants) So much fun was had, many great folks were met and company enjoyed.
