That would do it............. (bottom left, I would guess)

Before you mess up the old Silver Fox, why not try your cleaners on an old nylon (preferably rip-stop) jacket. Just suggesting

I fly the Rev II / B2's almost exclusively, now-a-days. I do fly mainly, in good steady coastal winds, and usually fly the mid-vent or the full-vent B2's. I too, use both 50# and 90# lines, both 100 & 120 ft, all depending on the winds. I agree with the previous suggestions about checking your line equalization. Something is causing your kite to go down to the right side, as you described, and I would bet it is your lines. Also, I know that when I began flying the smaller Revs, I found the 13" handles to be a bit much (causing over input). My original Rev II came with 11" handles, so I switched to them, until I got a good feel for the fast little kites. Now I fly the Rev II and B2's with 13" handles, or 11", whichever happens to be handy at the time. Still, there's nothing more important, than to have those lines equalized. Without that, you'll never figure it out.............good luck ! "My Sweet Suite"

Holy Cow ! I put my Tilley T3 in the mail last Friday, for the customer service people to check out, and today (exactly 1 week later), the postman delivered me a brand new Tilley T3, replacement hat.................Now I got two :cowboy: Yeeha ! One to wash & dry, and one to wear !
-
Well Tom, you got to admit, it does look pretty rough, after that final spin in the washing machine, but once you re-shape it, and let it dry, it's just got that great old, "favorite hat" look & feel. As for drying, I flatten out the brim, and re-shape it first. Then, I lay it across the 5 or 6 inch gap, between my washing machine & the dryer. Maybe I'll try your method of hanging it by the straps, next time. One time, I actually took it straight out of the washing machine, and after straightening out the brim, I just pulled it down, onto my head, and went about the day. It dried just fine, and shaped to my head perfectly.

Great pics there John & TK........... My wife (and her sister) will be in the Grand Canyon next week, while I'm at home battling with carpenters, painters, etc..........

Yep, and that's why the owner's manual says to "wash it often" - REALLY - in the washing machine. Sweat will eventually destroy most any fabric. On a more recent note, just last week, I noticed an entirely different, and unrelated problem, having to do with the sewing, on my "Tilley T3 Original". I called the customer service people, really just to ask about it, and they told me to immediately send it back to them, because that just wasn't right (so I did). Only problem, I've become so fond of my Tilley hat, that I went out and got myself another one, because I just couldn't stand to be without, while my old one went back to the shop ! What can I say.....when you're hooked, you're hooked..... they are just great hats !

Oh come on Mark - details, details, details. Tell us how you got started It's got to be a good story ! -
The longer the handle, the greater the input........ As everyone has indicated, you really need to learn to fly the Rev, before making these kinds of decisions...... Don't make this more complicated, than it needs to be...............
-
Yes, and even with the stronger winds (10 - 15 mph), and matched with the properly vented Rev kite, it can still be a pleasure to fly, without a lot of running around. Learn to fly, and you will enjoy............ I might add, it can be quite addictive !
-
Joe, If the "running around", tires you out, I would suggest outdoor Rev flying, rather than indoor. You don't really have to "run around", if you have sufficient wind, to keep the kite in the air. Please don't take this wrong, as I surely don't have anything against indoor flying, in fact, I envy those that excel, at what appears to be a true, art form. However, when flying indoors, you create your own wind, by "running around", or at least walking. Stop moving, and eventually, down comes the kite. Personally, I do NOT fly indoors (no indoor kites - no facility to fly them in), so I make this suggestion, simply based on what I have seen on the Tutorial Videos & You-Tube, and from what I see, it does seem that indoor flying requires quite a bit of movement, or "running around". In addition, I agree with Mark's earlier advice. With you, admittedly being a complete novice at Rev flying, I too would suggest that you at least learn how to fly outdoors, first. I know that some of my most miserable flying days, back when I was learning Revs, were those days when there was little, or no wind. This can be very a very frustrating experience, so I can't even imagine trying to learn to fly a Rev indoors, as a first attempt at learning. Again, nothing against the indoor folks, I just think that you may become disenchanted with flying, if you start your learning experience there. I look at indoor fliers, as highly advanced, and as the true artist of the sport.....not that you won't get there, one day, but maybe better suited for one, that has at least learned the basics of quad-line flight, first. IMHO

Yep, but I think it's just great to hear exactly how, so many different people, got involved with so many different kites. There must be a ton of stories out there, if people would only share them (or could find the time to write themt in). It can be simple, or it can be complex, but whatever the case, what a collection we could accumulate ! -
