This is getting deep ! We are flying kites here, and this is supposed to be fun. Uh, my head hurts - I need an Excedrin !
-
I agree.........the B2 can take it ! :cat_lol: (but don't forget, you're dealing with a lot less sail area, and it makes a difference)

Revs, of all kinds are great, BUT, at the right time, and at the right place (wind conditions). However, as Ralph clearly stated, we surely don't want to influence anyone, NOT to try a particular Rev. They are all great...................... (just great) (just great)
-
If you're talking to me, I'd be going to a mid......... But back to the Rev 1, again, I had in an SLE & 150# lines, plus I was pretty new to flying Revs, at that time. I was basically trying to avoid, "unscheduled landings", but heck, I'm with you on this, but he was talking about testing 20 - 25 mph, and I would think that would just be crazy, with a Rev I (IMHO). That's just too much sail, if you ask me, but to each his own. Live and learn, I suppose........... Oh, and I don't have a 1 in the bag, any longer. It flew off to Okinawa..........

Hey, welcome aboard Steve. Kitelife is a great place to hang out, and there's lots and lots of help here, should you need it. Just ask, and someone will tell you something, if it's wrong ! Just kidding.......loads of good, knowledgeable folks here. Enjoy the ride...........

Yep, Wayne's right...........that's a lot of sail, for big winds. I did fly in 10 - 15 mph winds (closer to 10-12), on occasion, but very cautiously, I might add. I was also using the SLE leading edge, along with 100' x 150# line..........All was well (other than the frequent wing flip), but again, as Wayne said, I don't think I would push it much past that 10 - 15 point.
-
My mistake..........I thought you said (post #35) that you were getting one for yourself.....(at the same time).....I must have misunderstood Either way, any of these will be very nice, for someone ! (and talk about a fast kite - don't blink)
-
Sweet indeed, but Joe (D), maybe you should just have, whoever, send them to you, and then you can send the one you don't want, to the winner. Don't worry ! Whoever wins, whatever, will be happy
-
I don't know, but I used regular 13" handles, and when the wind was blowing - 100' x 150#.............. I'm sure there will be lots of other suggestion................
-
Hey Joe (D), Didn't mean to create confusion, or, stress on your part..........I promise.........I was just trying to get a little Karma flowing. Didn't mean to mess up You're doing just great with this. I don't see any reason, why your shipping plan shouldn't work......... BTW, what is that kite? Look's to be a Prism of some kind. May be, maybe not (?) But whatever...................it will be a "Karma" hit...............
-
Ok Joe, the suspense is killing us Yes, we need to know! I'm confused............I thought you had the (give-a-way) kite ??? Yep, I'm really confused now

I likewise had a Rev I Lee Sedgwick "signature edition". Mine came with a SLE, which I eventually replaced with a regular 1/4" 3-wrap LE. I always looked at the Rev I as a good light wind kite, and I believe it is about the same size (108"), as the Zen (?). The Rev I does fly, somewhat slower, but is very precise, just as it's little brothers are, but maybe a bit more graceful (smoooooooooth). I think that the Rev I was basically the original Revolution Kite (I might be wrong), but I definitely wanted to try one. After a few outings, and not being much on light wind flying, I eventually let that one move on. I do most of my flying at the coast, and the strong winds there, didn't seem to go so well with the larger sail area. It is definitely a beautiful kite, and for sure, if you are looking for something for lighter air, it will fill the void. Oh, and as Wayne mentioned, "it will definitely do a wing flip on you, in a heartbeat", but still, it's a wonderful kite. I think everyone should try one, at least once...........

Well, I suppose it's time for a bit of friendly "Banter", over here ! The time is drawing near......... 5 - 9 - 0 five nine zero % ( ) 00110101-00111001-00110000

For those of you, that are unfamiliar with drawings, here on Kitelife, this is considered "Banter" ! :clap; Post #6 that's me ! It doesn't improve your odds, but it sure makes you feel better ............ (kinda)

I think Karma is "universal"...................

Good looking kite ! Nice decorations, too Wonder how that 100' tube is going to work out
-
Perfect ! Spot on ! You should be able to copy & paste the numbers into the Google Earth search box. Oh yes, it works.........takes you right to the pull off, on the "Going to the Sun Road" ! Neat place............

Perfect ! Spot on !

My apologies, mates........... There seems to be about seven, "Aussie" Kitelife Subscribers, according to the member's list. Might need to have a genuine, for real drawing, just amongst yourselves. I'm sure that the RNG would be glad to help WA, get the Karma to flowing "DownUnder".............
-
Karma DownUnder....?..... You and SparkieRob could just "flip a coin"
