  1. Excellent idea ! This really doesn't have to be kite-related, now does it ? ..................
  2. Not sure of your problem, or the knot, BUT, you shouldn't have to apply"crazy glue" to any kind of knot...............
  3. I think that's just a rumor !
  4. Hey, you guys need to share the K-A-R-M-A, with the rest of us !
  5. Xtra-vent?? You know something we don't?? No, but with all of these great Revs going up, I figure it's just a matter of time before we see one. Hmmm!
  6. Congratulations RR............I can't think of a better place for Karma to land, than where it started !
  7. That's the way to do it. If you can hook up with someone, it will definitely help. I went through the learning process, all alone, except for my wife, who had to listen to all the cussing................. As for the lines, make sure that the right and left lines are even. It's not so much an issue, that the top and bottom are not perfectly even, because this will happen naturally as you fly. Just make sure that the top right & left are even, and the bottom right & left are even. You can adjust the top vs bottom length, with the knots in the leaders, which are normally attached to the handles....
  8. Very nice..............very nice.............
  9. No cover-up, no conspiracy, all cards face up, and on the table. If Karma wants me to win, I will, if not, I won't.......simple as that. Another time is coming for us all...............
  10. NO, no! Don't worry, I was just kidding with the forum, about the "couldn't spell" part. My "Karma" knows the truth, and that's what's important. If it wants me to win, then I'll win, if not, I won't. Isn't that how it works? You know, it's not nice, to try and fool your "K-A-R-M-A" (Bad idea)
  11. Just wondering if WA got the set-up, that he previously mentioned above ? When I had my "Warm Sedgwick Rev I", I too enjoyed flying with the SLE, when the winds were up (much to the disapproval and amusement of many, I'm sure). You are correct on the feel. With that SLE in place, of course, you have much less flex and bend in the leading edge. It definitely felt more solid to me, and as you mention, "locked in". Likewise, it took some wind, to keep that heavy frame off the ground, on the light air days, so as I mentioned in an earlier post, I also had a standard 1/4", 3-wrap, that I could swap out on those days. Made for an entirely different feel, for sure! Tell WA to post us some , of his new "Cool Sedgwick"
  12. I know, I know - K-A-R-M-A !!!! (with a "K")
  13. Yep, yep, yep..............I said we couldn't spell, either :ani_giveup:
  14. I applaud you all..............QUIT - STOP - THROW THEM AWAY - DO WHATEVER IT TAKES !.............I too, went "Cold Turkey", about 25 - 30 years ago. No doubt, it was very tough for a few years, BUT, "It's the best thing, that I ever did for myself". Bought myself a Rolex, as a reward. I just kept putting the money that I had been spending on cigs, in a jar, and Voila ! Done............ Again, I applaud you all
  15. OH, and only two days to go ! Carma, carma, carma.........Oops, there we go again - I know - K-A-R-M-A !!!! (with a "K") and I'm still feeling the "VIBES"
  16. Oops! We can't spell either..............(my bad)
  17. Yep, been making my own kite bags for years. Got several open ended bags, that hold kites like a quiver holds arrows. Just drop them into the bag, in the upright position. They've got carry straps, plus head covers for each, that snap into place for travel. There is an internal spine, inside of each bag, which runs the full length, top to bottom. This keeps the bag extended and open, even when empty. They probably wouldn't offer enough protection for airline travel, but that's not what I made them for. Whenever I go out, I just grab one bag, or two, and drop in anything that I even think I might consider flying, that day. Usually SLK's in one bag, DLK's in a second. As for the QLK's (revs), they get hauled around in a M.L.D. Big Wings duffle bag (8" x 40"), with a full length top zipper, handles, and a side pouch for line sets. Works for me.............along with my trusty little flight box !
  18. Eh ? What ? Ever heard of the "BEACH BOYS" ? Your coast, your generation ! How could you possibly think it's and "right coast" thing ? West coast all the way.............
