<_< I've never taken music editing classes offered at various kite events and I'm not to computer savy, but the time has come to edit some music and I'd like to avoid going to the music studio to do it. Does anyone out there know of any free download program to edit music. It's just a matter of taking out some stanza's. Tks. Penny

hey, I said twice hi. Put it down to a week of fever that's still going. Kewl Ford. Have you ever seen the cody mass assension at WSIKF at Long Beach? Do you know the history of cody's? Hey, a collapsable cody in the movie "Water World" wasn't such a stretch since one really did pull a boat across the english channel. So Carl, we'll see you in the mass assension at Long Beach. If you have more then 2 cody's call me, I'll fly one for you. Unless............. are you planning on flying 3 at one time? BB Penny

Gosh, I'm having so much fun indoor flying. I get up early to head to the gym before work and fly every morning as I'm preparing for an indoor event at Lincoln City. It's great! I decided for the month of Feb. and March to pracitice with one style of Rev. for a whole week, and then switch to another. This way I didn't have to carry so much gear, put up several kites and take down to get ready for work in the short time that I had. I had to quit by 7 am. So I praticed with a Revoultuion 1.5. A necessicty for some of my routines. Red/white/Blue tricky, a little heavy, but a wonderful indoor flying kite. Next I practiced with an Indoor Rev. (I can't wait to get a few years more of that kite under my belt) This kite certainly makes it easy to fly. It does things the 1.5 can't do, but still isn't as versatile to me as the 1.5. Then I practiced on long lines with the Indoor on my one -handed handles. Awwww I love it! So free, and different. Of course a viewer won't realize the difficulty of flying this kite. I practiced a stack of Indoor Rev's. Beautiful! No work at all. In fact, what I use to consider exercise can harldy be called so anymore. It's so easy you can sit down and fly them. I laugh out loud as I practice laying down to fly them. Watching video later, you can see how easy it is, how little work it takes. I hardly have to move at all. Ladies are coming in from their arobics class to see it more and more. I let a lady try the stack indoor. She did so good her first time! But she made it obvious it's still exercise even though it doesn't appear to be. Making the difficult look easy is what my goals have been about. I've had to put off my two Rev's at one time till after basketball season. An hour is simply not enough time for all the untangling it takes for that practice! <_< Patience.. means wait nicely. I can't wait to get back to it! I may not be the best, but I could almost bet money nobody else is having as much fun or personal satisfaction as I am.. Oh, and then I got bronchitis... and I've been sick, sick in bed for the last 8 days and hopefully will be back on the road to recovery in the next day or two. I have so much to do! Darn Doctors who don't want to give out antibiotics for 7-10 days! But that's an ugly story..let s stick with flying. I missed a whole week of flying! I was going to try a week of practice on a stack of indoor kites with my one-handed handles. I can't wait!! Soon~ I know I'll be flying again soon!! Hopefully everyone is flying enough to make up for my lack of air time. Let me know. Best Breezes, Penny Lingenfelter Indoor/Outdoor Kiteflyer Revolution and Laser Pro Gold~Flying like I mean it.

Penny Lingenfelter replied to oyehut1955's topic in General Sport Kite
ooohhh and I tried pulling my buggy with gear down there one year. The sand was two soft and deep. Wonder if the convention will make arrangements for lifts? BB Penny -

Hi Rich, Your post made me laugh.. not at you... at memories of flying my own Rev's in high winds. My first thought is your a brave man, and/or a big man. But be aware I've seen a friend of mine flying a Rev. I in about 18 -25 mph wind leaning way back, and he was a good size gentleman.. Then we heard a pop. Thus` we discovered you can break a spar in the air! And that was a 4 wrap graphite back in the day. Then I remembered flying by myself at Fort Flagler with my Rev. I in gale force winds.. I was new and I didn't know it was blowing that hard till later. The wind had picked up and it was blowing so hard I laid flat on my back and thought if I take it straight up to the top, I'll be ok. I launched it, and flew from flat on my back onto my face... and dragged down the beach instantly. (This was after breaking the swivel that came on the kite lines which should have been a clue it was blowing to hard) Thank goodness they came out of with the Rev. II. It is f or high winds. The smaller sail has less pull. It's an 18 hour kite. You can fly it for 18 hours without being exhausted! When we called Revolution Lolly said people were thinking the Rev II's were easier to learn on, but actually they were quicker and harder for most to learn on. Yes, their small size is what you want for high wind. And Rich, I'm like you, I fly with long throw handles. (SUL- Super Ultra Light) These handles make for less wrist movement. Rev II's fly much more controllaby on Rev II handles, the shortest handles they make. Or Rev I handles work as long throw handles for it. I work on the twitchy, put on tails, anything but take the time to change handles.. I'm bad. FYI -when I travel and am limited I take two kites. A 1.5 for everything but high wind, and a Rev II. for high wind. They are totally controllable! Fast or slow in 20 + mph! Flying the speed series in high winds (Super sonic, etc.) you can lay your kite back by using your adjustment lines, making the top lines longer, and dumping air to slow it down. (some people lay the bottoms back, making the bottom lines longer) Just be careful around people. Cause I have another story about spearing my son in the leg with a kite in high wind when the handle was pulled out of my hands! Rich are you coming to Lincoln City for the indoor next week? Hope to see you there. I'll have you try my one handed handles, and indoor stacks, and everything! BB Penny

Sorry John, I missed this post. I've been so sick! At leasst I've got a week 1/2 to recuperate before Lincoln city. Scott's post appeared to be displayed every day. Perhaps there were no more post that shuffled it to the back? Steve is between jobs, but when that changes I would be interested in trying to create a web page. It's been a tough year. Thank goodness for kites!! BB Penny

John said: In the right wind, it's my favorite Rev... The control is fabulous like any Rev I, but the reverse is SO much more stable due to the venting. I feel the same way about my vented Rev. II. BB Penny

Kewl John, but I liked the funky way Scott Davis did the Windless, where it was on the forum daily. Any way we can do that? BB Penny

Welcome Ripit, It's kind of quiet right now as we get ready for the new season. But lots of kite stuff going on all over. We look forward to hearing your ideas. Best Breezes, Penny

Ron Seears said he sent info to Kitelife. John, did you get it? That is one of the press releases. I'm not sure what he sent to Kitelife, but it will do. BB Penny

Ron Sears sent me info on it. I'll see if I can find it. You don't want to miss it! How do I get it to you? I don't think I can send an attachment in here... I believe Ron said he was going to send the information to Kitelife. I'll check on Monday to make sure he gets it there. And Bill should get Moses Lake May 1-2 in here too. Tha'ts an outdoor/indoor fly. Getting bigger and better every year! This year it's in conjuction with another event. So more people around. Have you seen the Parks? www.indoorkiteflying.com go to videos. The first one is just fine > inspriing!! Hope to see you at Lincoln City. oh, it says at the bottom files are ok up to 200 k. I"ll go browse. Daran, can't figure out where my yahoo mail is. Ok, Ron's sending something... we'll wait on him. BB Penny

No, I never did it to my standard Rev. I've seen it done and they were happy. But they also don't use their kites on cement, (fairs, rocky fields and gym floors) Yes, I do wear those caps down till there is just a thin piece at the top left. and big holes! Then they crack and I just replace them with new caps. The indoor kite is where the knots have come out of the caps. They are quite a bit smaller then the regular caps. It's a wonderful modification for someone who doesn't do a lot of ground work. And smaller bundgee would work for me on the "ends" of the leading edge, but not on the leading edge. I tried it. Nope..and I have a few tricks that the bundgee is crucial to. It's wonderful to see the pictures of what you can do to modify for your needs on the net. I believe Lam does drill his caps, as do many others. I just don't think anyone is as hard on kites as I am. BB Penny

Hi, nice information. This should be helpful to a lot of people out there. But not me. ;( My only complaint on the indoor Rev. is taking the weakest part of the kite, (the cap) and drilling a whole in it. The knot is then hidden inside. That's wonderful. Oooops! Those knots have come off on me 1/2 a dozen times, leaving me to hunt or create new end caps. The knots slip through the whole. And I think the knot is about as big as it can be and still fit in cap and spar. Because I'm so hard on the leading edge outside, my caps are the first thing to get filed down till they break, so I've shied away from the internal knots. I wish, there was a compromise. The small bundgee is neat. I tried several sized before staying with a med. width. To small, was.. well to small. It didn't have the bounce back I needed for the guilloteen, so I had to go to the mediam size. (I'm just so technical, aren't I. ) It is nice to see there are people out there working on improving their gear. Maybe someone will find a way to fix this problem that would make me happy. or maybe not. <_< Thanks for the info and keep us updated on your other modifications. Best Breezes,
