  1. I'm fortunate that I live in Las Vegas. The kiting season here is literally 10 months long, with maybe one month of too hot weather and one month of too cold - and I still fly during these times. I replaced a big part of my exercise regimen with Rev flying. I fly my Revs 2 hours a day, an average of over 5 days a week (over the last 2 years). After all this time, yes, some serious muscle memory is at play here. I know of what you describe pwii; there was definitely a point where I realized that I wasn't thinking about it so much anymore (save for the sideways flic-flac). If you've hit a plateau, let me suggest what works for me - go to YouTube, watch a bunch of Rev kite vids. Make notes of how others are flying, then go out and practice their styles. I find this helps me keep it fresh. Last bit of advice - keep it fun. Its just kites man sounds like you are having a great time already! Focus on flying the way YOU want to. Enjoy!
  2. Give it to Raul. Got any Kitelife gear laying around (calendar, pin, shirt, hat)? Draw for it tomorrow 5/15/13.
  3. The 1.5 platform is the key here, plus the frame choice. My 1.5 SLE does all the same moves and has mostly the same feel as my 1.5B, as my 1.5 B-Pro (all STD sail).... So long as they all have the same frame. Ok, so there are some differences in feeling, particularly during lateral flight, but ultimately I feel its the 1.5 size that is key. I would buy a B Series over an SLE series - the sail material is worth the extra $$, but at the end of the day, the 1.5 size is what I'm after so all are worth considering.
  4. Hey Rob, As far as printed sails go, Los Hermanos bros. and Polo are the only 2 I can think of... Just picked up a Los Hermanos print, can't wait to take pics I'm sure it will fly well, though I've never flown one before. Cool look at a great price! As far as the bridle is concerned, I'm curious as to which part of it you wore out.. I notice that I wear out the center loop (the piece attached to the sail above the logo) within about a year's time. Sorry I have no suggestions for making them last longer. When you change out your bridle, you can use the old one to make new center loops, and to make new leaders for your handles. The vertical sections are long enough and work perfectly
  5. While I love the Race frame in my STD 1.5 for what it does, I love the 3 wrap frame for how it feels... STD sail 1.5, 3 wrap frame, give me a STEADY 8 mph. Actually, give me any wind speed > 1mph, so long as its a steady wind speed. Steady wind speed equates to optimal in my head.
  6. That's my problem in Las Vegas, Wayne! Just try and find a place to fly indoors on my side of town - they look at you crazy when you ask to use their facilities! One manager lady told me, "You know we have the second most amount of sunny days in the world, right? What's wrong with flying kites outside?" and the rest dismiss me outright, or say they won't allow it due to insurance purposes. ??? Jerks won't even give me the chance to show them a YouTube video real quick. I've TOTALLY given up on flying indoors in North Las Vegas Still, I refuse to sell my Indoor Rev and I keep adding to my glider collection
  7. I love LOVE the side slide on a dualie! I could (and did) literally practice for hours on end... On the Rev, my equivalent is the upright slide.
  8. I'll believe it. Thinking of the RNG as a heartless machine helps ease the pain of NOT winning... Of course, this time I AM winning
  9. Thinking about Mr. RNG sometimes brings to mind Terminator 1 where Reese is in the police station, ranting about the Terminator: It doesn't eat. It doesn't sleep. It can't feel pain! It doesn't feel remorse or guilt, and it absolutely will never stop... *shivers* Scary. Fortunately though RNG is only like the Terminator in the above manners, but he isn't scary, and he hands out prizes to people who believe in the power of the RNG like myself
  10. Mine Mine mine mine mine mine. Mine mine mine! Mine, mine mine mine, mine mine mine Mine mine Mine.
  11. Wayne this has almost turned into an endurance contest! C'mon RNG. Babyneedshoes. Momma needs a new car. And I NEED these kites....
  12. Can you blame a guy for trying? I truly am a fan of all forms of kites, but I recommend my passions first
  13. Trust me Wayne, the dog has it coming (devil smiley goes here) I get to put the video on YouTube If I win these kites, I promise to use them to play with dogs and kids, um adults too, cars, large rocks, park signage, benches, playground equipment, etc etc etc
  14. You just added to a reality, Barton. 4 out of 5 people say Cosmo looks like an Ewok He's my favorite mutt. Half shih tzu, half yorkie. So, a "shorkie". Or, a "shi...... Nevermind I won't be sharing these kites with Cosmo. He's absolutely terrified of them, even runs away from the iFlight!! Kids win out with the cuteness factor. Brutally cute pic Rob!
  15. For static flying - I'd say the ideal wind for that size foil would be somewhere between 6-12 mph gusts up to 16... Anything below that might be under powered, anything above that would pull on my arms too hard. Have fun, I began my love of sport kites on a similar sized foil
  16. Um I hate to break it to y'all but RNG only understands RANDOM numbers. All the *specific* combinations of 1s and 0s everyone been typing? Yeah, as soon as it hits RNG's head it gets jumbled up... That's why telling it to recognize your subscriber number is useless. Anyways it makes for great banter! I'm going with the *sure* way to influence RNG - voodoo, wiccan practices, chanting, ritualistic sacrifice (!), channeling the arcane, interpretive dance, and.... Cute pictures of dogs Yeah.
  17. I'll second the Benson Innerspace! I'm not a big dualie kite fan anymore, but I don't mind flying the Innerspace at all... It has a terrific feel in SUL conditions. I don't see any recommendations for the Revolution line of kites yet.... So let me be the first to do so. I stumbled upon the Rev when I went looking for a kite that would fly lower wind then my Zephyr (I flew dualies for a year and a half before my Rev addiction). I bought a STD sail B-Series Revolution kite, and I haven't flown my dualie kites since... It almost ticks all your boxes - flies in next to nothing, but is flexible enough to fly in double-digit winds (with a frame change) and it stands up to abuse well. It is kind of spend-y (value is in the eye of the beholder!) but totally worth it! So versatile!
  18. .... Good thing its not up to you Aha! (or backwards - Aha!) Teaming up to try and influence the RNG eh!? These kites are my density. Um, I mean, my destiny. I'm destined to own them. Android OS ~ Tapatalk2
  19. Kids, age, the future...... RNG cares not about these things. At least I don't think so. Ok so I hope not, because then I wouldn't quality.... I have no kids. I'm not sharing these kites, save for a trial-fly, with ANYONE, old, young or otherwise. I'm at an age that is menial. I don't have much of a future. These kites will be mine. Android OS ~ Tapatalk2
  20. John is the Crossfire offered in the color scheme shown? Matches my B-Pros perfectly! Android OS ~ Tapatalk2
  21. Maybe John would let you fly his if you asked and I don't have that option out here in North Las Vegas I don't think B2s will be represented in NLV until I'm flying them! Oh my. Did I just play the "pity" card? Ugh. For pity sake, RNG pick someone else's number! Android OS ~ Tapatalk2
  22. If you keep going east, I mean REALLY keep going east, then eventually you will get back to the west coast, where I live, which coincidentally happens to be where these kites are headed! Android OS ~ Tapatalk2
