  1. I do the same my friend. Almost all my Rev have 2 frames in each bag. I keep those frames in the thin plastic sleeves, in the kite bag. In fact, I don't roll up my verticals in the kite, I put them in the plastic sleeve as well.
  2. Reminder! Just because it's cold (many places, anyways) doesn't mean you can go without protection! Best to keep covering up, one way or another, year-round. Sent from my LG-D801 using Tapatalk
  3. (This kite will be) Mine, Mine mine mine, mine mine mine mine. Mine mine! Mine mine mine mine mine mine mine mine. Mine mine mine mine? Mine. Mine, Mine Mine
  4. This is excellent advice my friend. Alternatively, you could lift the top leaders with your index fingers, rather than pinch with them
  5. I have trouble with ladder down as well. I have come to find that it is important to have a more balanced tuning setup, with regards to leaders... I can ladder up regardless of my tuning, but to ladder down cleanly requires more forward in my setup than I typically use. So if you typically fly with lots of brake already, I'd suggest adding some forward tuning into your setup to help with ladder down.
  6. I agree with all the above, and I'd like to add.... Brake. I think you need more brake in your leader setup (plenty of good info about leaders and tuning here, I'd link to it but I'm on the smartphone). If your kite is flying how I imagine based on your description, it sounds like the wind isn't hitting your sail square. Too much forward in your setup will give you that floaty with lots of understeer feeling, like it could fly itself almost. The tradeoff is: activity. You will need to be more direct with the Rev governing its every move, so you will be physically working harder. Hope it helps.
  7. Hey congrats to Scott as well on the B2 win - sorry didn't see there were 3 prizes awarded.
  8. 0-0-0 doesn't even qualify till you add that fourth 0
  9. What could POSSIBLY be more silly than a bunch of grown ups trying to gain the favor of a simple computer program? To win a kite? I swear, I've tried everything else. Silliness might be the final frontier... Banter on!
  10. Has anyone ever gone gangsta on RNG? 957 back on mine fool
  11. I am also truly interested now- I fly an average of 10+ hours per week, for the last 2.5 years... I have worn out leaders (twice), bridles, the center loop the bridle attaches to, the LE mesh... I have yet to wear out any of the line sleeving!! None of my sleeved lines have pull tabs either.
  12. How did that Devo song go? If I remember correctly, its "Whump It" right? When some good wind comes along, you must whump it... Whump it good! And didn't Tag Team have that break-out hit in the 90's, "Whump There It Is!!"? Sounds right to me couldn't resist
  13. S'all good John, I don't subscribe for the chance at prizes, its just a really nice bonus RNG better be ready for me! Next time...
  14. Subscription renewed! Hopefully in time to participate in this drawing!
  15. Welcome to the forum Tammy! I hope someone chimes in with places for you to fly in MN.... What style of kites do you fly?
  16. When it comes to headphones.... Make sure you buy from a place with a good return policy. Hearing is a unique experience to everyone, due to the shape of our ears, and due to the interpretations of sound within our brains... I went through 6 pairs of headphones before I settled on the pair I use now. Make sure you can return without a restocking fee!
  17. Like watching a piece of a rainbow take flight! Incredible to watch, congrats!
  18. I also like the Image S4s. My goto pair lately has been Monster iSport Immersion. In the ear design, waterproof, never falls out while flying. Sounds good, just shy of great. I too like the over the ear headphones but mine would never stay on while flying... Not the way I fly lol.
  19. Wayne, instead of nirvana, I think you mean Zen
  20. I'm fortunate that I live in Las Vegas. The kiting season here is literally 10 months long, with maybe one month of too hot weather and one month of too cold - and I still fly during these times. I replaced a big part of my exercise regimen with Rev flying. I fly my Revs 2 hours a day, an average of over 5 days a week (over the last 2 years). After all this time, yes, some serious muscle memory is at play here. I know of what you describe pwii; there was definitely a point where I realized that I wasn't thinking about it so much anymore (save for the sideways flic-flac). If you've hit a plateau, let me suggest what works for me - go to YouTube, watch a bunch of Rev kite vids. Make notes of how others are flying, then go out and practice their styles. I find this helps me keep it fresh. Last bit of advice - keep it fun. Its just kites man sounds like you are having a great time already! Focus on flying the way YOU want to. Enjoy!
