RobB Posted March 16, 2014 Report Posted March 16, 2014 Well, this last weekend had the best wind that I've seen all Winter. At least for flying dual line kites. I was trying to get some footage to enter in the current round of Virtual Freestyle, but just couldn't get the requisite 90 seconds of in-frame flying that started from the ground. http://www.virtualfreestyle.com/ So, these are the highlights of what I brought back from the beach, I was flying the Tekken mid-vent because the wind was a little strong at times. It's a great kite, but I'm still learning it's ways. So if you have a few minutes... enjoy ! Thanks for watching, and don't forget to full-screen & hit the HD button. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GM4jaVBhJ0 7 Quote
Reef Runner Posted March 16, 2014 Report Posted March 16, 2014 Great video Rob...............gotta watch out for those "wandering idiots", oh, and dogs, too ! Fantastic flying - Wish I could do that Quote
RobB Posted March 16, 2014 Author Report Posted March 16, 2014 Dogs aren't allowed on the beach (yeah, right... like they can read !) You can fly like that, too, Nick. You just have to put down your quad handles and practice your duallie skills for a while. 1 Quote
SparkieRob Posted March 16, 2014 Report Posted March 16, 2014 Talk about making it look easy! Sweet effort mate! 1 Quote
SHBKF Posted March 16, 2014 Report Posted March 16, 2014 I have been following your posts & videos for some time now. It is a privilege to have met you through KiteLife chat. Thank you master flier. 1 Quote
RobB Posted March 16, 2014 Author Report Posted March 16, 2014 Rob & Ralph.... Thank you ! I learned all this by hanging around Kitelife ! If you want to fly tricks, just decide that you will & spend the time on the lines. I figure I'm about 1/2 the way to where I want to be... http://wardley.org/kites/movies/stoked.html I saw this when I was first trying to learn tricks, I would count this as my main inspiration. I want to be able to fly like this before I die. Check out the Oct. and Nov. videos... 3 Quote
John Barresi Posted March 17, 2014 Report Posted March 17, 2014 I was an "old school" (no fancy slack line tricks) flier until 2004, but when I started, Mr Greenway's tutorials were a huge help for me. http://vimeo.com/album/1622897 1 Quote
RobB Posted March 19, 2014 Author Report Posted March 19, 2014 The Randy G videos and the Mama74 videos were a huge help to me... another video that inspired me to learn tricks... There seem to be 3 different versions of this video, just too bad none are HD. (hint, hint...) 1 Quote

The best version is HERE ---> http://johnbarresi.com/kite-media/2005-sea-devil/ I hear you about the HD, alas, all on dead hard drives to be brought to a specialist at some unknown future date. 1 Quote
SparkieRob Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 Watched your vids again Rob, before going out today. Good for a motivational push. I was probably a bit too keen. Flew my Temptation Std in a little too much wind. Don't worry, I didn't brake anything. Hung out at the edges a bit, a fair bit. Quote
makatakam Posted March 20, 2014 Report Posted March 20, 2014 Never saw this video before -- nice flying! Quote
