  1. Have only been flying kites for couple of months but now I am totally addicted to them. I live in a small village on the Ontario/Quebec boarder and in the winter have the lovely, frozen St Lawrence River as my play ground and in the warmer months I will have a choice of many fields and a sod farm to fly over. I fly single lines right now due to the chilly temps but have a couple of brand new duals waiting for the warmer weather to arrive. Just wanted to say hello! Ian

  2. Kite is everything I had hoped on 120' x 50#. At the bottom of it's range IF it it gets a little floaty 1 or 2 easy steps and I'm right back under it.Winds were 0 to 10 most of the day. Stay at the high end for 2 or 3 minutes then drop.Mostly between 2 and 6 and smooth. Kite has a light smooth pull and the 50# worked a lot better than I expected. AC like the Tekken and Mind Trick dumps the wind in a split second which helps.Like the Tekken the kite instilled confidence quick.Think winds were about 3 or 4 when I set up for a slap and tickle. Tricks still hard for me and most times I fail. To late spinning out of the tipstand but man was I stoked trying that so early in learning the kite.So much for taking it easy.Had to switch to my trusty Nighthawk and go bonzi for a bit. Fly it a lot and today right wingtip tensioner gave up.Really should do less shark stuff but dang they're so much fun. Right on the edge of disaster every single time. Mind Tricks got one getting close to done too. When trying the comete, cascade and cynique I've always started vertical. Lam said that's to advanced at this stage and I should be learning from a 45 degree angle.Sucks cause I'm now having to change body mechanics and relearn inputs. Plus is I can see this kite really, really well. Being able to slow trick in 2 mph on long lines having enough room to recover or soft crash is going to speed up my learning big time. I guess some might say that I'm now one of those Lam kool aid drinkers. Nope don't like kool aid at all. Besides this kite is a strawberry daiquiri made with Bacardi 151. CAREFUL unlike kool aid this kite will kick your butt 🍹!!

  3. Hopefully this compensates somewhat for the delay with our last drawing. And for the record, it *might* be possible too negotiate the model (ST/MV/VT) if you already have a Djinn ST in your bag. No promises, but you guys know I'm always keen to try and find a happy balance.

  5. Trlbys? You have Trlbys? I like Trlbys. Don’t get me wrong, I’d like a Djinn, too. But gTrlbys were my first stunt kites.

  8. UPDATE 1-28-19 First...Can you believe it's January 28th already??? What do you do when you take your daughter to Eastern Florida State College for a 3 hour exam? Fly in a field across from the student center of course. Until security comes in a golf cart and asks "what are you doing?" My standard smart ass answer "isn't it obvious?" The puzzled look on his face means no, it's not obvious. Me "flying a kite" His answer "not on this property" Me "ok I'll leave" I did try 2 new things 1) i wrapped my lines around a nice smooth pole to try a dog stake style, pole dancing move... FAIL 2) tried to dunk into a retention pond... FAIL The open come fly on me field...Fail The moral... She scored well on her exam!!!!! I did equalize my lines when I got home... Tops where an inch or more longer than the bottoms. Not any more!!

  11. I would borrow a machine if you can before making the leap. Anyone can see with some patience, but making sure it is your brand of patience would be wise before starting a sewing collection...cause let's face it, it is not just a machine you will end up with. Machine, cutting mats, quilting rulers, rotary cutter and special scissors that will cause you to threaten anyone who uses them for other materials, a light for seeing clearly at the machine, 4 types of tape, storage tub for the sewing stuff, another for kite bits, big paper for templates, a new table when you get kicked off the kitchen counter after a week, and we haven't even started with kite parts. If looking to buy not every machine has the three step zig-zag stich programmed in, so that is something to look for. Kite making is fun, but know that the rabbit hole is deep Alice. With that said....what am I gonna build next....Xtra vent or indoor??? Sent from my [device_name] using http://KiteLife mobile app
