  5. Yeah, basically. Or a double diamond, squared out between. Symmetrical (top/bottom) quad kites just don't appeal to me, I like to have a dominant forward edge with a flexible trailing edge - same as with most of the successful quad line kites over the years.
  6. I just put pig tails at each equally spaced bridle attachment points on the kite (4), of course it was really slippery in the air and awkward to do anything more than nudge it around the kite - I class this whole idea as pure amusement, not much more - Rokkaku kites just don't lend themselves aerodynamically.
  7. DeafThunder - hoping you got a notification from me tagging you in the other topic? Just in case, if not...

  9. I did this in 2013, it works - be curious to hear how Rob got on.

  12. Sorry, quirky interface. End of the day, I tend to be pretty simple about tuning... Let the leaders ALL THE WAY out, then pull 'em back one knot at a time until YOU'RE happy with the experience. Every month or two, repeat the process and a flier's "happy knot" will typically get further and further out, especially when they learn the inverted hover. 15. Yeah baby! There's also this...
  16. Four duplicate posts merged, and moved to the Buy, Sell or Swap section where it belongs. Good luck on the $1,000 sale.
  17. Way to go line bender.
  18. GT = green trim Mixing rods to compensate for physical imbalance sounds to me a lot like putting one smaller wheel on a car because I slump to the right.
  19. Yep, no worries - admin only.

  21. Goes without saying, it isn't a good idea to mix late model GT rods with the other stiffer rods, otherwise one wing can / will distort more than the other. Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app

  23. I won't comment in depth yet, but I encourage ALL of you to do a basic deflection (flex) test comparing the older rods vs the new rods (green trim or "GT" as I've been calling it). Simple deflection test? Put one end of the rod in something solid, horizontal, then hang a fixed weight off the other end and mark where that end curves down to. The original GT rods didn't show any difference, but at some point the specs changed seemingly across the board - I've seen more flexible diamond, black race and 3 wraps so far with the newest GT rods.
