With regard to a foil "folding" one wing over and semi-collapsing, my first thought is either insufficient wind or too deep a pull (excessive distance between hands)... Especially on those Snapshots, I've found that they're quite precise (can cut corners) and well tuned. It could also be a bridle issue - something wrapped or twisted enough to change the way the kite flies... The least likely possibility is the bridle not being assembled correctly at the factory, pretty rare occurance but it can happen.

Familiar experience. Adding for our newest readers... I have also found that sometimes I either didn't cinch the larks head down against the knot very well, or even missed one of the two larks loops and basically "hung" the line loop on the knot - in both cases, I've had it still sometimes stay on through quite a bit of flying - feels kind of like a broken line when it happens. The recurring goal here is to develop a basic convention for set up, a casual checklist that you flow through - many, many flight issues can be traced back to some little equipment detail.

Warms my heart. @crazy5, don't hesitate to do the same to others - 99% of us love to talk shop and are generally VERY receptive ("the more, the merrier")... Come as you are.

We created the "Portland Area Kite Flyers" group on Facebook for everyone within driving range (subjective) from Portland... Often one of us will post there if we're planning on heading out to one of the local fields - it works pretty well when active. They've done the same thing in Seattle, Ocean Shores and a few other places - success depends on participation, and it starts with two.

Indeed - all (original) permutations of .com should now work on .net, including menu links on the older pages (like forum).

Actually, it IS possible... If you pull the kite slack enough and get underneath it, following around while it "hunts" in glider mode, it will eventually come down... Just takes a while, it's like following a slow, lazy bird to its landing point.

Ok, http://www.revkites.net should give you the old pages, fully working?

Thanks everyone, nice relaxed day, nothing special on the docket... Just enjoying this special month. My birthday is the 1st, TK's is the 10th and Luca will likely be mid-June... Lots of fun this month, maybe we'll end up with three Geminis in the house? Sent from my iPhone using KiteLife mobile app
